I know im one of the fortunate guys that can fish yr around. But winter fishing has got to be the hardest fishing ever not to mention this lake is the hardest lake ive fished in my life. I have fished in alot of states from huge lakes to rivers and ponds and never had a problem catching bass. I went out again to elephant butte lake. i tried from 3ft to 20 ft and not even a bite. Tried dropshotting,jigs,cranks,spinnerbaits,shakey heads basically everything. I fished very slow and throughly sometimes my bait was in the water 10 minutes. I just dont get it how it can be that hard? Anywhere else i never had a problem fishing from spring till the water froze and the day after ice out, but this place is HARD. Ive tried points, coves, river channel, bluffs you name it ive tried fishing it. but anyway just thought i would blow off some steam. Guess im going to wait till prespawn.

i love that there is some killer snowboarding here but when spring comes it kinda sucks because its a 2 hr drive to bass fish. and the only trout they have is pay to fish lakes.

ya the outta bounds boarding was awesome all the powdering carving through trees was SWEET. ya im glad they finally opened that up to us. i hear theres good trout fishing up there?

well yesterday my wife bought for me 4 strike king series 5 crankbaits in sexy shad, 1 DT10 rapala crankbait in shad color, another quantum accurist pt, and 2 new abu garcia ambassadeur rods cheap but like them alot. i really sugguest the accuris that reel is sweet i have 3 now and plan on getting a couple more. how many rods do you guys suggest in the boat. i have 9, 7 baitcasters and 2 spinning. how many do you guys carry?

where im at its about 60 so far all yr with the occasional 70 or low of like 20. but up there it gets into the negatives frequently. but thats 5 hrs from me. it was a weekend trip.

Well guys i just got back from taos new mexico we heard its the best kept secret in new mexico and whoever said that was totally right. the place is amazing for snowboarding. heres some pics to show you what i mean. hard to believe this is new mexico.

me and my buddy when i used to live in michigan would do really well on frogs at night for some reason. it was awesome. when the water gets in like the 50s there the fish really turn on.

hey guys im hooking up my new trolling motor its a 55lb thrust minnkota edge bow mount. i was just wondering what the guage the wire is. i believ it is 8 guage but not sure. any help would be nice.

ok guys just wondering what your experiences have been this winter while bass f ishing. what lures, how deep, structure, water temp, air temp, i was wondering because i want to go fishing since i havent at all this winter. i looked at all the winter fishing articles now im just wondering personal experience from all you guys.

haha i would love to be back in michigan with my family. been in new mexico 2 yrs and havent liked it since. well im going snowboarding in the rockies this weekend its only a 6hr drive so thats awesome but the fishing drive to hrs to hope to catch some bass lol.

well guys i just had my 21st bday last night. it was eventful i went snowboarding all day with one of my friends and came home to 30 people in m y house because my wife had a surprise bday party for me. well to say the least i dont drink at all. well all my friends do so they brought alot of alchohol. they bought me specifically 2 glass things of crown royale the 30$ and the like half gallon 50$ one. so i had to drink it. by the end of the night i was GONE. i ended up in the bowling alley bathroom sleeping for about 45 minutes and throwing up periodically so my friends took it upon themselves to video tape me lol. they drag me out to my truck wife drives me home and i sleep in our bathroom covered up for about half the night and woke up and feel horrible. all i can say is NEVER AGAIN.

Learn to fish cold water better and slow. Learn to fish football jigs on the numerous rock points in my lake i fish. Catch more fish in the prespawn.
