Most realistic looking Swimbait
Way back when Castaic used to be the most realistic but I think the competition has gotten better. Hudds trouts are very realistic, both in their swim and apperance. The Huddlebug is not a swimbait but it is the most realistic craw I have seen 3:16 hard baits are also very realistic. The tru tungsten baits are also realistic. T Mikes Bull shads are realistic. For those of you who said my baits....Thank you.

Lure Companies - Price Markup / Any contact info? Help needed.....
most are marked up 40% so a $5 would have cost the store $3

Fun with Mend-it
Its not the same and its not accetone. PVC glue will stick to pieces of soft plastic together but you can pull them apart. Mend it works way better. Mend it is awsome stuff!

A woman hit my canoe with her Navigator.
You left out all the important info! Was she hot! How hot? did you take pics with your canoe sitting on her hood. That would have been a pricless expresion on her face.

Potential Record-Tying bass "May" be invalid
Yep Glenn is right. As much as I want to catch the WR, I should be carefull what I wish for. No matter how legit I could do it, I would be put under a microscope. Would it be worth it? I dont know? Maybe I will just let it go and take some pictures, ha ha

Why would a bait manufacturer screw up a good bait?
There are a lot of possible reasons. It very well could be cheaper. Its possible they feel this is an improvemnet. It could also take less labor time Its possible that they had issues with the way it was before My guess is somehow they are saving time/money my suggestion is if you realy like those baits buyup the ones you can find.

Potential Record-Tying bass "May" be invalid
Here is a post from Greg Vella. He lives over there and is an avid trophy bass fisherman "Overall, almost everything that was done regarding the submission of the huge bass caught at Lake Biwa was done very correct. There are only two potential "problems" with the Japanese submission to the JGFA and IGFA, and the area where the fish was caught is one. The place that the fish was caught is not posted "No Fishing", nor can anybody point to any law made by Shiga Prefecture (where the fish was caught) saying that it is illegal to fish there. It is one of the most commonly fished spots on the entire lake, and I have never heard of anybody being asked not to fish in the aforementioned area. There is, however a Japan Bass tournament rule that states that the area can not be fished during a tournament, probably for navigation (safety) purposes. Most marinas, docks, commercial boat harbors, and bridges are off limits for tournament fishing, but are fine for recreational anglers. The fish in question was not taken during a tournament, nor was it taken by a tournament angler, but ultimately it will be a judgment call by both the JGFA and IGFA."

And I didn't have a scale
Good on you except for the scale part. I love seeing the looks on the trout fishermans faces when I let a monster go ;D

Maybe I'll give turtle soup a try (rant)
sned it back to me and I will fix it. Send all the peices you have. AND QUIT CASTING IT AT TURTLES!!!!! Seriously its only a lure and it could have been worse had it taken a finger. My friend caught a big softshell years ago and it destroyed a Rapala. We kept it for a while in a little fountain pond. Those things are almost as nasty as snappers.

A bass is a bass?
In general bass are bass and will have similar basic behaviors. However conditions dictate specific behavior. Just like one lake can fish completely different then another thats close by the same goes for bass from different parts of the country or planit. Most lures that work well will get bit anywere but that doesnt mean they are a good choice in every lake.

"Talent is overrated" - Geoff Colvin 10,000 hours practice
I dont think there is such a thing as "talent" in bass fishing. Ok maybe a tiny bit but 99% is knowledge. This is not football where the biggest, fastest, strongest guys have a huge advantage. This is a sport that anybody who is phyiscaly able can become a pro. It is all about time on the water and how well you interpret what is going on around you. In many field the 10000 and 5000 hours are great examples. It also works in fishing, however the more intelegent an angler is the faster he learns. So maybe a guy with below average IQ might take 20000hrs to learn what a genious can learn in 2000hrs. it all depends on how fast you learn and how you "practice" I used to play pool at a high level. just hitting balls in and playing is a very bad way to practice. sure you will get better but at a very slow rate. Use the same amount of practice time and shoot drills and and work on your weaknesses in a cunstucted practice session and you impore 10x faster.

any help on buzz baits
I consider myself a seasoned buzzbaiter. I mostly fish them at night. Color is irelevent at night. The most important feature of a buzzer is the squeek. The louder the better. Any buzzer that has beads behind the blade is poor. There should always be a rivet. I prefer the standard 2 bladed buzzer and I dont like clackers. Just a nice loud sqeek! I cast paralell to the shore with long casts and reel it just fat enough to get it up and churning. I also try and make the retreive as mathodical as I can. a constant speed with no iregularities.

"Fool a Fish" uv ray spray.
Things like this interest me. I would certainly not be convinced just because the ad or description says its soo great but on the other hand I dont see the harm in experimanting. If its only $5 give it a shot why not? Use 2 rods with same baits and switch every cast. If one rod is out performing the other then it is reasonable to assume the UV thing was the difference. If the results were the same or inconclusive thendont buy anymore. I see alot of fishing products that I can automaticaly tell are gimcks. I can honestly say I have not fallen for any of the gimicky baits except for the original Dances eel but I was just a teenager then. I think this is at least worth trying.

Swimbait question.
Thanks for the plug Dink! as for those 3 baits, they are all good and I dont think you could go wrong. Hudds are cheap now so if money is a big part of your desicion maybe get the slammer and a Hudd. If you get a Hudd I recomend the 8 over the 6. 3:16 are beuatiful baits so you cant go wrong there. Kinda tough question when they are all good baits and they are different from each other. Ususly these types of questions are easy. Its pick the best out of a few similar baits.

UFC 100 (tonight) Predictions
five.bass.limit Lesner is smart and he was doing his job. He is now 10X more valuble. Remember what an Ahole Ali was? he was the biggest jerk with the biggest mouth and now everybody calls him the greatest. Brock is playing the bad guy. There realy isnt many villans in MMA. That just makes him that much more valuble. The more he is disliked, the more evrybody will want to see him loose. Its a perfect fit for him. His openents will just about always be smaller and be the underdogs. The crowd will always cheer against Lesnar. Why not make the most of it? Just like in Boxing, people want to see exciting fighters. the bottom line is Lesner is the modern day Tyson or Ali. He will make Dana even more rich then he is now. I wouldnt be suprised if Dana patted brock on the back afterwards once the camers were gone. Now if lesner acts like that in his regular life outside the ring then thats a different story but I bet he is completley different
