People have the idea that APBT's are baby killers. Most people think that because this breed of dog was bred to fight, that they are aggressive towards people. In fact its quite the opposite. These dogs fought to please their owners. Although most pitbulls are very affectionate with other animals and humans, they are not for the complacent owner. A lot of APBT's become dog aggressive as they mature. It's in their blood. I never leave my dog alone with another dog, she stays in the crate.
  2. gargoyles, pslychics? ;D
  3. Nice fish purpleworm. It's cool to have family that will come out with you, even if you spend most of your time pulling lures out of trees and freeing snags. We'll get out there soon Kevin! I'm busy this weekend, but how bout next? It was cool to finally meet you the other night.
  4. Looks like a good time. Nice fish too!
  5. I agree with Dan 100% & I don't have a boat either.

Very fun bait to fish. Now I just need one in black/blue for night fishing
  11. Great fish man. Congrats!
  12. Anything with Pauly shore Hey SIGMA ;D
  13. 30 days for killing someone? wow :-? p.s. I sat in court and watched a guy ask the judge to sentence him to the remaining 6 months he had over his head instead of two years probation he was supposed to get.
  14. Thanks for the responses! I found a few websites. They don't directly answer my question, but have some good info that relates. This one seems to be a journal entry about a experiment where they noticed a antipredator response in juvenile bass when "alarm pheromones" from other fish were introduced, and a predator response in adult bass when the same pheromones were used. http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=1097180 This one is about aquarium fish. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/FWSubWebindex/FrightChemsFWArt.htm Not trying to play scientist, just interested.
  15. A lot of new NoVa guys! Welcome
  16. That is actually a chemical sold for aquarium fish. I don't know the effectiveness in a wild setting. I don't really buy into the thought of the "stress pheromone" and I know bass are not all that intelligent, but I think seeing my buddy get ripped out of the water by his face would be less of a deterrent than seeing him not come back ;D Yea, J's joke went over my head for a minute ;D Surprisingly, I did find a link that said some do use it in the livewell.
  17. Yeah, I saw that when I googled it ;D I'm assuming that's to keep them healthy/alive in the livewell or revive them? But would a stressed fish be a warning to others?
  18. I was talking to a buddy yesterday and he mentioned that when he gets into some fish he will hold them in the livewell, and sometimes release the fish in another location due to the fish getting a "stress coat" that will shut down a bite. I think I remember a short thread on this topic a while ago, but thought I would ask again. Do you believe a fish will release a pheromone that will warn other fish?
  19. Nice fish and post Avid!
  20. Solution = Exercise/Activity I'm the same way. I have a extremely comfy bed, so once I touch it, i'm done for. I just try to keep myself busy. Playing video games, re-organizing tackle, going to the gym, fishing, cleaning, etc. The gym helps me ALOT. Not only does it take up time, but gives me a bit of energy afterwards, and I'll end up sleeping 10 times better at night, therfore I wake up the next day feeling energized as well. Also try eating healthier, or at least fit some greens in with your grease. One other thing that kills me is getting into bad habits. If I come home and take a nap after work a couple days in a row, my body thinks that everyday I should take a nap when I get home when I don't need it. So try avoiding those things. I'm sure all this sounds redundant, but this stuff really helps me. Lots of my friends call me grandpa... I'm 22 years old, but really like my naps ;D. I can only imagine what i'll be like when I get to be old... like Burleys age :-? It doesn't get any more simple. If your eating right and getting exercise and still tired then you might have a problem. Having said that...I'm exhausted ;D

I buzzed my hair 10 years ago and never looked back. Go buy a good set of clippers and you'll never have to go to the barber again.
  22. Thanks J. It is a mattlures, and its a floater so I don't really need to worry about losing it, unless I put it up in a tree. ;D
