THIS IS A LITTLE CONTINUATION FROM THE POST BELOW AND SOMETIMES WHEN POSTS GET TO LONG -THE POINTS GET LOST. When fishing over the grass on a very still calm day. when the bass are hitting bugs and other smaller creatures -I throw the 1/8 oz Cavitron. It creates a smaller wake with some subtlety. It posses no threat and is an easy meal. I added a 4/o Gamy hook on them. Most smaller buzzbaits have smaller hooks on them.I dont like small hooks. This bait is an amazing producer when nothing else seems to get bit.I can cast it with ease with plenty of range..When nothing else seems to work or the bigger bulkier baits spook the fish.Try the 1/8 oz cavitron.

I HAVE USED TRAILERS ON BUZZBAITS. THE TRAILER I LIKE IS A YAMAMOTO GRUB. IT GIVES THE BAIT A LITTLE MORE BULK AND SWIMMING ACTION THAT COULD ENTICE A STRIKE FROM A BASS THAT WOULD BE A LITTLE RELUCTANT TO HIT A BAIT. IN THE CLEAR WATER SITUATIONS I USE THE YAMAMOTO SMOKE GRUB AS A TRAILER ON THE GHOST MINNOW MODEL CAVITRON. I HAVE SEEN THESE FILMING UNDERWATER AND LOOKS LIKE A BAITFISH SKURRYING ACROSS THE TOP.

Well Not trying to blow horns but after about a 6 month headbangin I finished them . We talked about this last fall on here. Building the Shak-E2 with the screw /bait keeper. I call it the Shak-E2 PRO MODEL .The 3/16 now comes with a 4/O Mustad Ultrapoint hook instead of a 3/0.As of right now I have the 3/16 and the 1/4 oz finished .The larger sizes will be available soon. Let me get a pic on here to show ya something that is truely functional. I am also working on the 1/8 oz model that should be ready by mid April.

Let me tell ya I made those baits and shipped them as fast as I could- I told all my help i will pay double time and a half if you get them done. Seen it a hundred times-by split shotting you are crimping the split shot to the line-therfore causing a nick or crimp in the line -it weakens the line and as soon as you set the hook -CYA ---Put a rubber tubing bushing up the line-like the one that is the rubberband part of a skirt-Then crimp down the split shot over that-It will act as a shock absorber and life is good again
