strike king series 6/5 crankbaits
I've heard of others having problems with them filling with water but I have never had a problem with them. They are the only crankbaits I use and all the fish I have caught this year on crankbaits have been on a #5 in Sexy Shad.

Bill Dance Fishing Course
I recently got the 3 series of dvds by KVD and found them to be very good and informative. After watching them I used this and another forum to clear up the gray areas. Any seminar or class you can attend will help you and then come here to ask any questions that come up afetr that.

You might be a Fishaholic if...
You have a copy of the BPS catalog at home and another at work. You check whatever forums you are in a couple of times a day when the boss isn't around.

Fishing/boat shows - a thing of the past?
I went to the boat/bass fishing show in Greensboro, NC on 1/4/08 and found the same thing. The show was smaller and attendance looked to be down even with KVD and Peter T. there on Saturday and Sunday. I talked with the manager of a local Ranger dealer and he said it cost around $28,000.00 for them to be there with renting space, bringing the boats and paying people to man the booth. Even with that in the past sales have not been that good at the shows. They were doing an open house the following week for $2,800.00 (food & drink) with a number of pros attending and he anticipated selling 10-12 boats.

Asking your wife's permission...
My wife and I have been married 43 years and she is a good sport when it comes to my fishing obsession. It was her idea for me to join a club and fish tournaments. She made the first contact with a customer where she works and encouraged me to contact them and join the club. She also understands that Saturday or Sunday is my fishing day. She takes at least one vacation a year with a friend so it all equals out. Clearing it with your other half before you go seems to me is just common courtesy.

Your Dream Trip
I actually have 2 trips I'd love to do. 1. Lake Champlain for large and smallmouth 2. Minnesota or Canada for smallmouth, pike, walleye and muskie Ideally the trips would be for at least a month and while I'm dreaming the guide for either of the trips would be Al Linder

Opinions on a new vehicle to tow a 1500lb boat
I tow my 16' 6" Nitro (around 1800 lbs) with a GMC Envoy with no problem. Before that it was an Isuzu Rodeo which also did fine. Both got around 22-25 mpg but not while towing the boat. Any mid size suv should be okay but don't look for great gas mileage while towing

You might be a hardcore bass fisherman if.......
I'm guilty of almost all on the list but I have one to add. When we were looking to buy a house in N.C. my main concern was having a big enough yard to park the boat I hadn't bought yet.

Yum crawbug/BPS Flippin craw
:-?Have any of you used either of these products for LMB? If so how do you normally rig them? They both look like they would work as a jig trailer or Texas rigged but I would like to know what kind of success you have had with them.

Naming your boat
:-X I've never seen a fresh water fishing boat with a name on it. That's mostly something you see on bigger boats.

Have you Had Problems With Bass Pro Shops?
I returned a rod I bought which was not what I wanted and had no trouble getting store credit to pick the one I really meant to buy. I didn't even have the receipt but the brand of the rod was okay and it hadn't been used. Other than that I've never taken or sent anything back.

How often do you fish
8-) I usually fish 35 - 45 hours a week mostly on weekends. I'd go more but the closest good bass lake is about 1 hr. from me. All my fishing is done from my Nitro bass boat.

The Fishing Offseason

New guy
:DWelcome to the best forum going. I usually look at this at work so I can print off the information. I've got enough to start a book. If you can't find it here you don't need it.
