Was the river levels up when you found them in that pattern? When the upper Potomac floods, I have a spot I go to where I can find largemouths and smallies in a 10-15 yard stretch. They hold in bushes and laydowns, the stronger current pushes the smallies into this area. That is a norm up here to. It is generally big smallies though and you won't get a largie over 3.

LMS-522 is a great unit, but nothing compares to the Side Imager.

Flipping, the longer the rod the better. More line out=longer flips. Pitching has a lot to do with the boat's height in the water. If you are in a jon is is easier to pitch with a shorter rod. If your in a big boat you can use a longer rod to your advantage.

Best thing of 2008 for me.. Bassmaster Weekend Series tourney on Champlain.. had a 40 mile run in some big waves 4-5 footers in a 19 foot Bass Cat. Go absolutley pounded and beat up. Turned white a few times and speared a couple of waves. Made it to the spot, fished for about 4 hours. Caught a ton of big smallies 3.5.-4.25. And was culling 4 pounders by 10am. Had the same 40 mile run back to the ramp in now 5-6 footers. Stopping every 15-20 minutes to refill the livewells because the plug went missing. Made it back just in time. Weight the fish and I know I had a 4+ average ( 3 fish limit), they come up 9 pounds and I'M ticked. Ask for a re-weigh, they come up 12.74 and I win and get a nice check that paid for all my Weekend Series events.

Doesn't matter to the smallies as long as it's windy.

Big win for the Pats but this morning on Sportcenter they were saying it looks like Harrison is finished. And Morris is now hurt. :-/
