  1. When he had his older shows on NESN they were not bad to watch during the winter and he wasn't as annoying. I give him credit because he is a New England guy who worked his way up and now is on ESPN2. The only problem I have with him is his "always to busy" schedule or says he will be at certain events and never shows. He pulled this a couple years ago at a charity fundraiser.
  2. I was referring to a Christmas Tree. ;D Must be a Rhode Island thing.
  3. He is my hero.
  4. Here are a few things everyone should think about before you type in my opinion. I think a lot of the drama in this section and headaches for the mods can be avoided. I think this section has the best benefits for someone trying to move up in life but there are things you need to think about before you try. 1st: Learn to take criticism and expect it. It isn't disrespect or trying to make you feel bad. It is there to HELP YOU! Remember, this is online, just because you read something one way, doesn't mean the person wrote it like that. Take it with a grain of salt, put it in the back of your mind, and better yourself from it. 2nd: I just want to throw this out there so all the young guns out there who want sponsors so badly need to realize. THE GRASS ISN'T ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE. Sure you might get free stuff, but with that comes tying up your weekends that you could be fishing to work shows and do things for the company. So now for some of you guys that don't drive, now you need to get your parnets to get you to and from places. And what good are they getting from it? 3rd: Grammar- Think before you type and proof-read it. I have said it time and time again. What company is going to sponsor you if you appear to be, shall we say, not the brightest bulb on the tree, to be nice. 4th: For you young guys. How about instead of trying to get free "stuff", get a job or a way to make a little side cash. So then you can buy what you need, enter tournaments, and build up your resume. (This falls in the constructive criticism part. I'm not saying your lazy and need to get a job, but it will help you out in the long run) Sorry
  5. It's called CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! Learn to take it and learn from it, you will be getting it your entire life. O ya, and if you go anywhere else, you will get the same attitude if not worse. Ever think it could be you?
  6. Scronger Head with a fluke or the Skinny Dipper.
  7. Yup, with a spiked chartruee tail around spawn time.

I slam my red craw lipless one into rocks and it still looks fine. As for the running issue, I have had one or two do it to me.
  9. Thursday 6PM johsnon pond was 66-68.6 degrees
  10. Johnsons and Tiogue have them. 8-) But they will move off everywhere within the enxt couple days. :
  11. WRONG! Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Hybrid Ultra Soft both float, all sizes, all colors and in all water. They are not so buoyant that sinking baits are affected, but the line itself floats. A simple, I disagree would have been cool. That backfired. :
  12. I prefer harpoons and or spear guns.
  13. So the tattoo artist sucked? I knew there had to be an explanation! Ohhhhhhhhh snap!!!! Come on Brett, even you have to laugh at that one. By the way, can your buddy draw me a pic of your face for that inspirational tatt I wanted? ;D
  14. Low to mid sixties in the dirty dark lakes and upper 50's low sixties in the clear lakes. Fishing season has arrived in southern New England.
  15. Anyone notice the only people that have issues with these rods are the people who have not used them??? : This is just getting funny now.
  16. Stick-figures 8-)
  17. Watuppa can be a tough place. Go out of the ramp and take your first right under the powerlines, there is a small inlet with rocks, fish those rocks. Many tournies have been won there. Or just follow the wind and whatever point or shoreline it is pounding on fish ir with a spinnerbait with gold willow blades. It is a great jig lake too, backsides of boulders, docks, and when the pencil grass comes up.
  18. Exactly, it is a run and gun fishery. But also be willing to go back to those areas later on in the day. Crankbaits this time of year too, wiggle warts, wiggle warts, wiggle warts.
  19. I'm not in favor of it in tourney's but it would sure work. If you are fishing on an smallmouth factory like Onidea or Erie and you are using a stickbait or drop-shot rig you must use a circle hook. If I'm using one of those two and fishing a smallie lake, as soon as you feel the fish it is usually to late and down too deep.
  20. That is exactly what I was talking about, a quick warm-up like we had can really mess up the fish around here. So far though everything is weird in RI. Some lakes are in pre-spawn mode and some fish have not even moved out of their winter holes, while fish in other lakes are just beginning to stage. For the RI guys, saw beds on Johnson's Pond yesterday. But in places you would never expect beds to be. I'm talking dead, stagnant water in the back of a tiny tiny inlet. All the leaves were kicked out and there was a nice sand circle with a buck on it. The other ones I saw didn't have fish on them, but they were close by.
  21. I will be forced to fish all the lakes within 15 miles of Coventry this summer. > One is 657 acres but $15 to launch, the other two are free and about 300 acres. I can't complain. But the drive to work and school are killing me.
  22. Pitching is finally getting good, the offense is firing on all cylanders, except for Papi. He has the lowest average on the team by 100 points. Youk is on fire. 9-1 in their last 10, leading the division by 2 games. The Sox are heating up, until August anyway. What is up with the D-Backs? I'm shocked.
  23. After looking at the forcast for the next week or so I would say maybe a little later. Even though the next few days will be warm, we will still be having some of those low 40 / upper 30's nights which can really mess things up. A couple warm rains would help though get the process going.
  24. They look dumb, but for the price it is the lightest most sensitive rod you will ever use. Amazing is the only way to put it. Use one and you will have to stock up on them. Still have never heard of one person who regretting buying one. As for the people who are concerned with the strength and how they "break easily", they must have just gotten one bad rod like every other company makes once in a while.
