The one turn-off with braid is how it looks like a ski-rope in clear water. Thats the only real disadvantage I see with it besides turning your hand green or black with the first couple uses. And can you reword that diameter question? :-/

A couple years ago at my club open tourney (110 a team and 40 boats) a guy just so happened to hook into an object in the middle of no where. He went to go get his bait and found that he had hooked a Lobster Car with a couple four-pound fish in it. So now, we have to watch everything and everyone. It's just plain sad.

If you provide prop info, RPM, and motor to pad hight you will get a bit more help. FYI 18' 150 Intruder 65.8 with just prop jackplate and tuning. You can find 6 mph if your motor is in good shape.

Yup, I killed a beauty last year. :'( Had a solid 2 and half pound smallie (there are few left in RI) in a lake where they are suppose to not exist. She swallowed the entire tube and there was nothing else I could do. Made me feel like a :-X.

And those solid patterns you get on for a couple days change and then the day of the tourney you waste a couple hours sticking to it and believing they are still there. By 11 you scrap it and have to get on something else with only 4 hours left. :

B.A.S.S. Rules: A dead fish may not be weighed as lunker. I believe it is TBF too. I'll have to find it. -Edit: Heartbreak Burley, check out your state's rules on weighing in lunkers. It is not a B.A.S.S. or TBF Rule it is state by state. Since it was a club sponsored event it would have gone by your state rules as well as club rules. (I'm surprised you don't have that rule already in your club for that one reason, :-/ )
