I don't see how a world record smallie could come out of the Great Lakes, they seem to almost stop growing at around 7-8 pounds. I have no doubt the next world record smallie will come from Cali, Fish Chris has caught some giant ones and I have heard of numerous 9+'s on beds from several different people. The way Cali stocks or used to stock trout has made their fisheries almost second to none, being that a small trout is nothing but a protein bar for a bass and their weather allows them to grow year round.

I had one spit a mouse up in my livewell once. Must have been running around on a retaining wall or dock and went for a swim. That thing was nasty to get out. Have also had fish spit up golf balls (when guys use them to mark beds you see it commonly), pickerel, trout (both were around 7 inches), frogs, rocks, twigs, and lots of soft plastics.

It took them 9yrs to win another, and when they do people start the hate all over again. They finally changed their philosophy. This year is a crappy market, the only good names are Jason Bay, Holliday, and John Lackey. For Christmas tell your girl that forget buying each other gifts and whatever money you were going to spend on one another, do one of those "adopt-a-family" type things. In doing this you... A. Help a family and kids by giving them a great Christmas they couldn't have had otherwise. B. Don't have to stress about figuring out something she wants/needs in the days prior. C. Look like the hero to her and all of her friends so...well...ummm....play it to your advantage.
