  1. If it doesn't change the water temp more than 6 or 7 degrees don't worry about it.
  2. No, this is a fishing forum, not a hairdressing or ballet forum. I hope you choke on cranberry sauce tomorrow. ;D
  3. I'm glad to hear some good about them but I wouldn't trust a rod company who makes a "toad/senko" rod. Those are two baits that should be fish on completely different rods unless you are flipping the senko in super heavy slop. :-?
  4. No love for early 60's Mustangs or early 70's Boss's with 429's? :-?

A dozen cakes vs. some of your Cajun food says the Pats win Monday night. ;D

Glad to hear all is ok.
  7. Jefferson still has a couple years to figure out how to throw the ball.
  8. Did anyone watch this? The footage and stories were great but they were so inaccurate it blew my mind. The first thing that comes to mind was the episode on Guadalcanal showing troops with M2's and Hellcats which were not introduced until 1944 ... :-? Someone needs to do some research.
  9. Actually yes I did buy it from walmart. I tested it by using a polomar knot to the scale eye and also to a metal ring then slowly pulled until the line broke. The 10# P-Line out did the 12# vanish everytime. Neither of the lines broke at the knot but in the middle each time. I am sure there are better performing flouros out there but for now I will stick to co-poly . To each his own. The Vanish from Wally World is generally very old and exposed to some temperature extremes. I know Senko77 use to use it and noticed the same thing I did. When bought from other places besides Wal Mart it isn't terrible. Now Vicious just plain sucks. ;D
  10. Interesting to see so many people liking the really dark beers. The only ones we can really get to sell in the store I work at is Full Moon, and some of the Sam Adams stuff. We have 6 packs of things like Dead Guy Rogue and imports like Boddingtons and Samuel Smith sit on the shelves for weeks.
  11. There's only one correct answer. It has to be New London. I was thinking Fall River would be it.
  12. I have 2 largemouth at 8-6 and 8-9. Not too bad for New England I guess.
  13. Welcome eh! You guys have some awesome fishing up there, I just found out about that 5 for 30.35 bag of smallies out of Quebec. I can't believe there is a better lake than Simcoe out there.
  14. I will remember to avoid my Seroquel when I down 12 gallons of Miralax next week for my colonoscopy.
  15. Unless you have to deal with tree branches and brush go longer than 6'. You will have better hooksets and your casts' will be longer.
  16. Did you buy it at Wal-Mart? Also, how did you test it?
  17. Focus more on where, when, and why.
  18. x2 Fish the inconsistencies in the grass, any feature that is different and provides an ambush point. Also when you hit one slow down, they tend to stack up in specific locations in grassy lakes. Once you find them and why they are there, you can duplicate it on other similar areas throughout the lake, thus establishing your "pattern". I would cover water with swimbaits, traps, and spinnerbaits on the cloudy days (focus on the edges) pitch until my arms fall off on sunny days (focus on the holes).
  19. Of course this is true. The key is to be cautious as you stated in your post. If you are not cautious and stealthy with fish cruising in clear water in the shallows I would say you're generally going to have a difficult time catching big fish. A lot of it is relative to the area of the country. Up here you can sight fish for largemouth on the edges of grasslines all summer long and in up to 15' of water. This is because the fish have become acustomed to pressure, boat-traffic, and the clear water. The only time I don't find sight-fishing to be productive is in fall and early spring. This is because I catch more and bigger fish covering water and taking advantage of their appetite with fast moving baits like traps, jerks, and spinnerbaits.

  21. Stop fishing and go study an atlas.
  22. If they are still you can get them, if they are cruising they will either react to the bait or spook easily. The whole "they see you so they wont bite" isn't completely true. You can catch fish sight fishing for 2-3 months out of the year when they are in spawning mode. If the theory of "you can see them so they can see you" was true, then we wouldn't be able to sight fish and pluck them off beds. If you are very cautious and sneeky then you can get them. It is why I love push-poles.
  23. Almost perfect, didn't realize there were 8 hot dog rolls in a bag. :-[
  24. An 8 pound fish in mid-November New England, now that is awesome. 8-)
