Headed to my first tourney and open to advice!!
Up in the brush along the shorelines... thats what works at butler county lake, which they all seem to fish the same small lake wise in ks. Use watermelon and red shad colored works or creature baits. White spinnerbaits, and if its muddy through them with gold blades.... just my 2 cents worth

arkansas river, around little rock
Me and truffle fished a bfl on robert kerr, in oklahoma, which is an arkansas river locke lake. Just remember it will be super muddy, try to find a clear creek, spinnerbaits with gold blades, white crank baits.... about anything that makes some noise... my boater caught quite a few on a brown jig with brown craw trailer.

Project Vintage Bass Tracker
Well I went and picked up the boat from where we we're storing it, me and my lil big brother (he is younger than me but is an inch taller and about 40 pounds heaver) are going to lay the decking down and put the starter on tomorrow. Hopefully we can get the beast to start up and see what else we need. If jay gets that tilt tube and steering cable then hopefully i can go ahead and put that on before he gets back from pittsburg state. I'm going to take some pics tomorrow and post them, weather permitting, I'm atleast getting the starter on.

cruise control while towing
as long as you have it out of overdrive or in tow haul mode, running the cruise will not hurt anything at all

carrot sticks??
I picked one up at sportsmans warehouse this weekend... and wow it was light. Trflshfl (jay) always gave me crap when I told him someday i would own one... well we did the flick the end of the rod test and wow super sensitive whereas other rods we did that to you could barely feel it. Needless to say thats my next rod buy and probably his too. I know our test isn't all that accurate but just doin that upped my bait monkeys mojo so next check I will be getting one

Leaking aluminum boat
Aluminum welding sticks suck! Don't mess with the water weld, it works but ur better of with good ol jb weld just make sure you rough up the surface before you put it down. On my 14 foot we tried the aluminum weld sticks and they didn't work at all, we used water weld which is good to have when out on the lake but u have to pull the boat out and let it sit for 15 minutes or so b/c the pressure will just pop it off. The regular jb weld is the best, in my opinion, we put it on last year and still no leaks this year.

Wire?? How Much?
I would measure it out, just get some string and and run it the way the wire would run then measure. Times that by 2 and there is what you need. i would say probably like 40 foot of wire 20 foot a piece for power and ground

Wave Worms
I love the bambo sticks

Wave Worms
My opinion is they have the same action as a senko, they are as soft, but they are durable and half the price. The wave worm is the best stick bait on the market b/c alot of them out there have no action whatsoever, everyone jumped on the band wagon to get these out and they are super hard and have junk action. Then people say they last longer ya but u sacrifice action big time. The wave worm is very durable but has very good action, I have caught countless bass on one whereas a senko you might catch one if your lucky before tearing it up. my 2 cents

new baitcasters - yay for me
I'm hoping you forget that accurist and falcon lowrider in my truck or something, I love that setup

What 'custom' enhancements have you made for your boat? (other than decks)
Long mikes boat is AWESOME! Hopefully my boat will have half as many things as his does, plus the cooler in the livewell is pretty sweet.
