Memphis/Bartlett TN - Bank Bass Fishing
Kent is a great guy, he took me out to a pond last fall and I caught a 6.12lb bass with 30 minutes. He knows the area well and can put you on fish so long as you practice catch and release.

Good Job out there Steve, looks like you had a fun day.

Lake Anna warm side this week
Sounds like you had a good time Steve, the pickerel can be fun to catch except when they are destroying your plastics. I caught 7 of those toothy critters last Friday at Lunga. They destroyed about 12 Rage Tail baby craws during the day with all of the bites I was getting.

Swim Jigs
I agree Shane, that combination has been working extremely well for me this spring.
-
Do these lures produce large fish
Throw some big jigs (Strike King Hack Attack) with a Rage Tail lobster, this combination will eliminate a lot of smaller fish because it is a large profile combination.

briery creek water temp
Any news on current water temps and or fishing reports for this week.

10-Pounder on Lake Gaston?
I would like to hear more about that and possibly see a picture.

Keeping her interested
I find one thing that keeps my wife interested in going out fishing with me is picking scenic places. These places usually give her an opportunity to see turkey, deer, geese, beavers and bald eagles. That way she enjoys being out on the water even if she is not catching fish.

Removing the rattles from a lipless crankbait
I know these are not lipless but why not just try the Strike King KVD Silent Stalker crankbaits. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_10204981_100005000_100000000_100005000_100-5-0

Lake Orange
The cove next to the dam has some of the best fishing on the lake. I have fished there a few times and I lost a lunker in that cove last summer. Good luck, I hope you do well that lake has some trophy bass in it for sure. FYI: Study the pictures on the VDGIF website and you will be able to see where the the VDGIF employess are positioned holding lunkers inside that cove when you get there.

Caught my first bass today
Congrats, I am glad to hear you had a good time out on the water and that you caught your first cast. Watch out, bass fishing is highly addictive but it is also exremely rewarding as you realized today. Have fun out there on your future trips..

Fluorocarbon and Spinning Gear?
Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft works well. Ultra Soft is a blend of nylon and fluorocarbon but it is specifically made for spinning tackle because of it's low memory features that are crucial for spinning gear. Besides ultra soft being more supple it still is very abrasion resistant, water proof, UV resistant, and has less stretch then regular monofilaments.

Spawn is on at Lake Anna
I watched a Hook and Look show where they were doing some bed fishing and they caught a lot of bedding bass with the Rage Tail baby craw on a jig head.

Did anyone else read the article in the lastest Bassmasters mag about Gerald swindle?
This was an awseome article, I did not realize what he was dealing with. Brothers don't get any better than Gerald, the way he helped his brother do a few things (shooting a buck with a bow and another with a rifle) in life before he passed is really cool.

B.P.S. Foxboro 2010 Spring Fishing Classic...this sucks!!!
I agree they don't have the greatest of deals this year but I still enjoy shopping at BPS in Hanover County, VA. The store is very accomodating, they ordered items for me to pick up this weekend that they usually only sell in the catalog. Furthermore they just contacted me to tell me that all of my items are in, I have to say that is good customer service for sure. We also have a couple of good local pros/guides that are doing seminars that should be very informative. However Woo Daves and Chris Daves are doing seminars that were a waste of time last year and I will not go to those again.

If you could thank one person..
My son for getting me back into fishing after more than 35 years of not fishing.
