  1. Nice smallie Paul. It seems like the bass are in a summer pattern at some of the places I have fished with the fish down deep (6-10 feet)on points. The tidal waters still have bass in the shallows though.
  2. Mine was caught around 4 in the afternoon.
  3. Go to one of the council meetings and register to address the council during open microphone time. Plead you case to them, just make sure you have the facts about the groups that are using this water so you can speak intelligently to them. I would also ask them to verify the information for themselves that you provided and to get back to you with a ruling on who is eligible to use this water. Just make sure you are extremely polite to them and dress appropriately for the meeting. Just my 2 cents.

  5. I took the boat on the Occoquan River today even though the temps were in the mid to high 90s. The ride on the river was like driving through a mine field, there was debris every where floating in the river due to all the heavy rains we received the last couple of days. When I finally got to the spot where my buddy kicked my behind last week, I started fishing. I finally put the chatterfrogs to the test for myself and was very impressed with them. I caught 4 lmbs (all keepers) within an hours time frame. While fishing I noticed a school of long-nosed gar and knew that could mean problems. On my very next cast one of the gar went after the chatter frog and bit right through my line, man I was mad. The one thing I have to say about using the chatterfrog is the strikes were violent. The lmbs hit the lure hard and then tried to run with it. At one point I caught 2 on back to back casts. After the bite died I moved over to the docks and started pitching swim senkos to the docks with no luck. After about an hour of dead time (no bites) I headed down to the back end of the river and I started fishing lipless crankbaits and managed to catch one striper (1.5lbs). All in all I was out for only a few hours yet it was a very productive couple of hours considering the circumstances.
  6. Nice lmbs kwoodscordova
  7. Good job Jay, it is tough fishing mid day in the high heat. Glad to see you hooked into one in the short time you were there.
  8. BassChump, great picture and I am glad to hear how well your daughter is doing. You should be extremely proud of her accomplishments, she sounds like a great kid.
  9. LETS GO CELTICS!!! Paul Pierce certainly gave us a scare last night though. It was good to see him come back and hit that three pointer after being carried off the court. One down three to go.
  10. Nice hawgs once again.
  11. Looks to be about 4 lbs.

  15. I only use tubes on smallies in the rapids in Virginia, rivers like the James and the Rappahanack. They work really good for smallies, I have never caught an lmb on one. The last two times I went out I caught 5 smallies one day and 6 the other day all on (Gitzit) tubes.
  16. That is funny, you need to add Exxon to it though.
  17. Nice smallie, I am going to guess between 2 and 3 pounds.
  18. Nitro, JCrzy4Bass will be writing up a thread on the trip and posting the pictures. We had fun fishing despite the late start, the high heat and the higher than usual water levels. I think he is going to put a write up on his blog site as well. You can get to his blog site by clicking on his screen name and then following his link.
  19. Nitro, glad you got back to shore safely. I would not ever stay out on the Potomac in that kind of weather or any other body of water for that matter. That is just a little to dangerous to jeopardize my or my partners life. The Potomac River can be very unforgiving please be careful out there. Ron
  20. Sam, We will be bringing the good PFDs (auto-inflate) with us. If the water looks like it could be a problem we will wear them. The water levels are in the safe range at this point unless something changes overnight. The levels up river look fine as well with the exception of one location KANAWHA CANAL but we will not be in the canal up river. 23. The funny thing is they sponsor the Elite Series and I have seen the boat, it is located in Western, VA and has been out on the Potomac River numerous times. They sponsor Christiana Bradley, she is the neighbor of my wife's supervisor.
