  1. Jay it sounds like you had some fun today. You need to go back and catch a trophy carp, it only has to be 20lbs or 34 inches.
  2. Good job Kent. I bought some of those creature baits and have yet to use them. I guess I now have a reason to break them out and use them to catch some lmbs. By the way I am still looking at getting down to Tennessee sometime this year to visit my daughter in Memphis. I hope your offer to fish with you still stands when I finally make it down there.

  5. Jay, We took the boat through the thick mats all the way up to the pads. There were quite a few boats in the thick cover near us as well. We decided to go in there because all of the bass were hitting top water in there. Next time we go out I will take you into this area, it is very productive and we pulled some nice keepers out of there. I think I saw your new PB waiting for you in there.
  6. Congrats on some nice looking bass.

  9. My largest is in my avatar, 6.5lbs.
  10. After thinking about this a little bit more I would choose Scott Martin and my son (JCrzy4Bass). We are actually looking into making this happen. Scott has a guide service and we are looking into planning a trip next year.
  11. Fishing from a boat is always an advantage. I try to fish from my boat as much as possible however my three largest bass were caught fishing from the shore.
  12. Here is my big fish from Saturday, he went 3lbs 11 ozs.
  13. fishingforfun Yes you can fish Mattawoman Creek with a Virginia license. The two states are reciprocal as far as the Potomac River goes. I have been fishing Mattawoman Creek for a little over a year and have caught a lot of nice size bass over there. I always launch out of Leesylvania State Park when I go there. I was just at Maatawoman Creek yesterday and my friend and I caught 7 nice bass. If you want some information I will be more than glad to provide it to you, just send me a PM. Ron

Go Celtics, I want to see another championship.
  15. Congrats, nice bass.
  16. Did you leave the rat-l-trap in his mouth and release him? If so that fish is as good as dead. Do you have forceps? If not you should think about investing in a pair before you use a lure with treble hooks again. It is really easy to remove all hooks using them.

  19. Glad to hear you are both ok. I have PFDs that auto-inflate as well, I spent quite a bit of money but piece of mind knowing we are safe is worth it.

It times like this that I am glad that my Lowe 1605 fishing boat has a 25hp Evinrude on it. I can make $30 in gas last me almost a month and that is when I fish both Saturdays and Sundays. I may not get to my spot as fast as others do but I don't feel as much pain when I fill up.
  21. If I were you I would not fish a lake or pond that has no fishing signs posted, just my opinion.
  22. I haven't had any problems with mine.

  24. It certainly was a tough day today. I am still disappointed in the one bass that got away, it had to have been between 4 and 5 pounds. We did do good considering we had terrible conditions high winds, cold muddy water and lots of debris floating in the river and bay.
