Did you calibrate the scale to read "0" before you weighed the fish? He looks a little small to me to weigh that much but pictures can be deceiving.

Potomac
If you are fishing from the shore in VA I would think you do not need a DC license.

Hats off to Chrysler.............
The $2.99 agallon gas is a great marketing angle. My guess is you will see other autmobile manufacturers making similar deals soon.

Potomac
If it is in DC you need to purchase a DC fishing license, they do not do the reciprocal thing.

No fishing poles needed.
That looks like someone could get seriously hurt fishing there.

Exclusive Interview with Casey Ashley
Good interview Glenn. I like what Casey had to say about sticking with what you know. I try to do that all the time so I can be more consistant when I fish.

LOOKING TO FISH Florida.
Scott Martin (Scott Martin's Challenge) is a guide on Lake Okeechobee and he has great prices with a good guarantee. He does this when he is not tournament (FLW) fishing. I am going to book a trip next year with him.

Laker Mercer 5/4
You may want to try the stump field again. Throw plastics and jigs right next to each of the stumps on the shady side of them. Just be prepared to set the hook quickly as some of the strikes are real quick

What's Up in NoVA?
It appears that we do have bass in all stages right now. The fishing has been good and the bass are fighting aggressively when they strike. Let us know how you do at Hunting Run, I have not fished there but I plan to at some point this year.

Laker Mercer 5/4
Mercer is a good lake to fish but it has it's days. You just have to keep casting and you will catch nice bass there. The fact that there is structure in the lake is a good thing. Once you learn the lake you will not loose lures. The hawg in my avatar was caugh there and released back into the lake.

Looking for a boat
Call backyard boats in Woodbridge, VA. They are trying to sell off all of their canoes. They will bargain on them and I may be purchasing one from them at the end of the month.

Vintage 1930's Medalist Fly Reel
I was going through my stuff that I received after my grandfather passed many years ago and I came across one great score. I found that I have an 1930's (vintage) Medalist Fly reel and two small metal folding boxes with hand tied flys that my grandfather made. The reel and the flies are in excellent condition. I remeber watching him make these flies when I was just a little kid. My little brother is 21 years younger than me and never got a chance to meet his grandfather so I thought this would be a cool gift for him.I called him up on his cell phone to day to tell him the good news and he was blown away. He can hardly wait for the package to show up. I think my grandfather is very happy that I am doing this for his grandson that he never had a chance to meet.
