  1. Bill Dance, KVD (Bass Pros) and the Scott Martin Challenge.
  2. There is a pond at a golf course that I would love to fish but I respect the fact that there is a fence. That is private property and I am not allowed on it period. I think it is wrong to hop a fence, just my 2 cents.
  3. Can anyone provide input on how the fishing is at Lake Anna? The reports online look like they are catching some nice size LMBs now and that the lmbs are making their way toward the mouths of the creeks. I am going to fish Lake Anna Monday March 31st and will be launching at Dukes Creek Marina. I am thinking of going down toward dike 3 in an attempt to land a hawg. Thoughts?
  4. Nice catch, congrats
  5. I watch all of his shows on the VS network and I have learned a lot from him. I would love to be able to sit down with him and pick his brain on bass fishing techniques.
  6. I replace my treble hooks with Gamakatzu right after I buy them because I do not want to loose the fish of a lifetime. I had lost many LMBs before I started replacing the treble hooks. I have only lost one fish since then and that was trying to set the hooks to early.
  7. A shad rat-l-rap and a Manns -1.
  8. I had the surgery to repair mine, it took me a couple of months to recover. I have been fine since then.

The Creek Chub Bait Co It is a Creek Chub Perch Scale Wigglefish Aproximately two miles from this spot, on June 2, 1932, George W. Perry, a 19-year old farm boy, caught was to become America's most famous fish. The twenty-two pound four ounce largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoldes) exceeded the existing record by more than two pounds has has retained the world record for more than fifty years. Perry and his friend, J.E. Page, were fishing in Montgomery Lake, a slough off the Ocmulgee River, not for trophies but to bring food to the table during those days of the great depression. The fish was caught on a Creek Chub Perch Scale Wigglefish, Perry's only lure, and was 32 1/2 inches in length and 28 1/2 inches in girth. The weight and measurements were taken, recorded and notarized in Helena, Georgia and Perry's only reward was seventy-five dollars in merchandise as first prize in Field and Stream Magazine's fishing contest. The longstanding record is one of the reasons that the largemouth bass was made Georgia's Official State Fish. Montgomery Lake is today part of the Department of natural Resources' Horse Creek Wildlife Management Area.
  10. The issue was taken offline and worked out. There is nothing else that needs to be said about it.
  11. Happy Easter to all of the Bass Resource family. I hope you all have a nice day with your family and friends.
  12. Tpayneful, nice catch. It looks like you were tearing it up with that lure.
  13. I have caught a lot of fish using the swim senkos, many over 3lbs, they are my go to bait. I have also caught my 5 fish limit in less than an hour on more than one occasion with them. I do not use weights as I found it really does not need a weight to catch fish. I throw the senko out and let it sink for a couple of seconds, then I give it a couple of quick twitches and then I reel in the slack. I repeat this procedure until I retrieve the swim senko or I catch a fish. I almost always get the hits when I let it sink back down. I hope this helps. I had one day where I caught 10 LMBs this way in about 75 minutes.
  14. If available, I stop at a waterfront restaurent and get a burger, fries, a drink then use the facilities and go back to fishing. We have a nice place on the Potomac River with a deck and a bar right on the water. They also have crabs cooked with old bay, good stuff. I can do this because I pleasure fish I do not tournament fish.
  15. This is also my first year fishing pre-spawn and have had some luck with crankbaits (Manns Baby -1, Rapala SSR's and Rat-L-Traps). I don't know if this will help in your case but it has allowed me to pull in quite a few 3lb LMBs.
  16. I saw a show on the VS network where they fished this lake and they were pulling out some hawgs. I hope to go there some day and take a shot at catching one for myself.
  17. Nice smallie 71Rig, I'm jealous. I have only caught one smallie and it was a dink. I am hoping to catch some nice smallies when JCrzy4Bass and I go wading in the Rap.
  18. I watch Bill Dance on the VS channel and learn from him that way. He does provide a lot of helpful tips and techniques on the show. If you get this channel I would watch his show first and see what you can pick up before spending $177 for the course.
  19. I agree it was a slow morning. I only caught 2 dinks, I have still to catch anything worth speaking of after 6 trips to this lake. It was nice to hook up with everyone I had a good time. Like Jay stated we tried to squeeze in one more fishing hole so we rushed off, sorry. It turned out to be worth hitting the other fishing hole, Jay hooked up with a sweet LMB (3lbs), congrats once again Jay on the new pb. Andrew, congrats on the one fish worth posting a picture of, I look forward to seeing it.
  20. Nice job Andrew, it looks like you found a sweet spot to fish. I like the crankbait.
  21. I am keeping my game plan the same (rain or not). I plan on using crankbaits, jerkbaits, jigs and worms. Hopefully I can finally catch something of size on this lake tomorrow. So far I have been there 5 times and only caught a couple of dinks. I hope the fish are starting to feed like they are at Huntsman and Mercer. Those two lakes are in pre-spawn mode, the fish are starting to feed agresively. The reason I say that is they are hitting the baits real hard and are fighting like crazy once you set the hook.
  22. I caught these at Lake Huntsman this morning.
  23. Where are all you guys that voted to have this get together at Lake Royal? I was hoping to see a much bigger commitment.
  24. Here is the second LMB (2lb)
  25. I caught two nice LMBs a 3lb and a 2lb. Not bad for a real windy day and water temps in the mid 40s. Here is the (3lb) lmb. Sorry about the quality, these were taken with my cell phone.
