2008 NCAA Tournament - Bassresource pool & bracket challenge
Waiting to watch the George Mason Patriots tonight at 9:30 EDT. It is only the second time in school history that they have made it to the dance. Two years ago they made it all the way to the final four, my son JCrzy4Bass graduated from this school so I know he is pretty pumped up for the game tonight as well.

Okeechobee Fats 1200 tackle bag
I have one and it is the best tackle box I ever bought. You can pack this thing up with everything you can think of and then some. I have had it a year and if I ever need another tackle box I will buy a second one. It has 8 boxes to hold all of your lures and they are all configurable. It also has a lot of pockets I think there is 8 of those as well. I say buy it if you can afford it. The only problem I have is mine weighs about 70 pounds when it is packed.

EPA and New Boating Regulations (Please Get Involved)
I hope I am not violating any forum policies by posting this. If I have I appologize and ask you to remove this post. Recreational boating is one of the most enjoyable American pastimes for 73 million boaters nationwide to spend time together outside enjoying our natural treasures with friends and family. But, unless Congressional action is taken soon to pass S. 2766, the Clean Boating Act of 2008, the estimated 18 million recreational boats in this country could be subjected to sweeping new regulations and permit requirements intended for commercial ships with ballast water tanks, preventing boaters from enjoying this great past time. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced on June 20, 2007, that they will begin moving forward with a new and unprecedented permitting scheme for recreational boats to comply with a September 2006 landmark ballast water court ruling. Under the ruling, EPA will have to devise a permitting scheme by September 30, 2008, for engine cooling water, bilge water, gray water, and deck runoff from recreational boats previously exempted under the Clean Water Act. For 34 years recreational vessels have been exempted by EPA from National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits for these effluents deemed normal to the operation of vessels. These permits are more commonly applied to large commercial sites and water treatment facilities. However, the court struck this exemption down because it also exempted ballast water discharges from large ocean going commercial ships that have introduced damaging aquatic invasive species into U.S. waters for many years through their ballast water discharges. The court's decision was intended to protect the environment and local communities, but it will now unfortunately toss recreational boats into the same category as commercial cargo ships. This was clearly never the intention of the law, or the EPA.

Shimano Sonora 4000 Help (For you Reel Guys)
Jay, I feel pretty confident that we corrected your problem. The reel seemed to work pretty sweet with no tension on it as well as when we spooled it using the Berkly spooling station. I would think that the line was put on with a good amount of tension and we did not see any problems. That leads me to believe that you will not have any problems with it when you fish. The only way you are going to get more tension on the line than what we had on it when we spooled it is if you have a fish fighting on the line. Dad

Shimano Sonora 4000 Help (For you Reel Guys)
I took JCrzy4Bass's Shimano reel apart this afternoon and lubricated all of the bearings and gears and I believe it may have solved his problems. I guess we will know for sure on Saturday when we go out fishing together.

Fishing cold, muddy water????
I would try jigs in black/blue with trailers don't forget to add some lunker sauce to them. You could also try Rat-L-Traps and a spinnerbait with a big colorado blade.

Fishing Girl buys boat and now has questions....:o) NEW PICS!!!!
to the forum. I also would like to say thank you. Good luck with your new boat I am sure you can find some members that live in your area that would be willing to help you with your project. You will love having the boat since you only fished from shore, it opens a whole new approach to bass fishing. I also started fishing from shore and bought my first bass boat last year and I have enjoyed tremendously.

Line for rat-l-traps
I use 17lb Stren line and I fish lipless crankbaits a lot and never have any problems with the line. The only thing I do differently is change all the hooks on my lipless crankbaits to Gamakatzu because I was loosing fish prior to that. Since replacing the hooks I have only lost one bass on a lipless crankbait.

They Are Biting on the Potomac
NIce LMB's, it looks like you tore it up out there today. I am hoping to have a good day tomorrow when we launch out of Leesylvania.

Anyone want to fish the Potomac River tomorrow?
Can't afford a lifetime pass right now. I am buying a 1 year pass in the morning for $128. This will give me access at all state parks that I use.

Spook Jr (Issue with my line)
JCrzy4Bass, Problem solved, you can have my Quantum baitcaster reel and rod with 20lb braid on it. We can also change the braid if you don't want to use it. It will be in the boat so you can use it tomorrow for our first trip out on the Potomac River this year. I will using my new KVD Signature Series baitcaster from now on.

Linux Users?
The only problem with Linux is the printer drivers. I run a dual boot system but the Linux OS does not support my photo quality printers.

I HATE LOSING LURES!!!!
I have been told that you aren't fishing unless you loose a lure or two. I also hate loosing lures but it happens to us all.

Favorite Lipless Crank?
The Xtreme Shad Rattle kit that I bought at Bass Pro Shops has produced the most LMBs and the biggest LMBs that I have caught using lipless crankbaits. However ther are times when I throw other lipless crankbaits that work well also.

EVER GO A LITTLE OVERBOARD BUYING LURES???
All the time!!! I usually end up buying a lot more than what I planned on. My son says I am an addict and that there should be a support group for people like me.

I know this is embarassing but....
Don't feel bad, quite a few of us have yet to catch LMBs on a jig. I have yet to catch one using a jig.
