  1. Do you think bass will still hit a crankbait (or any other type lure) if the hooks get fouled with weeds? I've always wondered when I "feel" something on my line and can't rip it free, if I should just keep on working it in or just reel as fast as I can to get it back and clean it off. Whats everybody else do? Doug
  2. No surge brakes. A friend suggested after I come back from fishing to block the tires off the ground until the next week when I go fishing to see if it is flat spots on the tire. Said if it is flat spots they shouldn't develop being jacked up?? Going to try this, but is this bad, the flat spots, or is it just something that happens? Would new tires stop this? Thanks for ALL the help. Doug
  3. A digital volt meter is helpful to have. After you charge it, take the charger off and then check it after 24 hrs. 12.65+ =100%, 12.55=90%, 12.45=80%....and so on. Then check it again the next day, it should stay the same. A hydrometer is helpful to check each cell, you can tell if one is bad then also. They should all be about the same.
  4. It is only when I tow, but come to think of it, it did it when I towed my utility trailer? Same thing, did it when I first started out then stopped?? Could it be my universal joint going bad? It always clears up after a few miles, that is what I don't understand. I just had the bearring replaced on my boat trailer and my other trailer is brand new, but I will check out the tires. How would I know if they need balanced? On my other truck, I never felt anything. Thanks, Doug
  5. Need some help! When I first start towing my boat, I feel a vibration, can't tell if it is coming from my vehicle or the trailer. It is only for the first couple of miles and then it slowly goes away. It is only when I first start, does not happen anymore unless it sits for a few hours?? Took it out to fill with gas this afternoon and it did it, then brought it to work tonight and did it again. Doesn't do it when I stop at a stop sign and start out again, seems like when it has sat and is "cold". Anybody have any ideas?? Thanks Doug
  6. For anybody that is thinking of buying an on-board charger, BPS has 2 and 3 bank ProMariner Prosport chargers on sale for a great price!! The catolog I just received says for "internet and catalog orders only." Use the link from here ,Bass Resource, and it will help out the site!!!
  7. Thanks Glenn for the great site. I use dial up and Mozilla Firefox and can't really complain about the speed as I'm not used to anything real fast anyways. When I click on something here, it doesn't seem to me that it takes long. I guess that I may not be on at peak times so that may make a difference. I will take your advice Glenn and check out the store. Doug
  8. Went to get my deep cycle battery from down in the basement from storing it for the winter and noticed it was all wet on top around the caps, like it's leaking. What would cause this? On the meter it reads 12.6, which should be full charge. I had charged it when I put it away back in December and then put the charger back on it in Feb. just to keep it up. I have moved it a few times since the last time I charged it and I know it was not like that two weeks ago. Is there something wrong or nothing to worry about? I took it outside and put baking soda on it and cleaned it all up and it's not doing it anymore. Thanks for any input. Doug
  9. Thinking of you and your family Lane...
  10. I just ordered one yesterday, the 358 model. I will let you know after I use it. One thing I do know is if your TM is still under warranty, it will void it. Mine is out, so I'm willing to take the chance based on what I've heard about them (my buddy has one, and like all the reviews, has nothing but good to say about them). Doug
  11. same thing happened to my motor and it was a faulty fuel pump. same here!!! Doug
  12. I would like to here other peoples opinion on this also. I have a 50 horse Yamaha oil injected and have never really given it a thought about just mixing the fuel. I was happy that I didn't have to mix it. Maybe I should be thinking differently. What does everybody do that has oil injection??? Doug

  14. What is the # of fish for your limit? 4,5,or 6 would make a big difference in big fish. I fish a couple of tourneys in Canada and the limit is 4 fish. I use a 100qt cooler with the aireator running constantly, put additive in the water (Catch and Release aid by Sure Life) and have had 17# (the most ever for me) in there with the water temp. up to 85 degrees and have never had a problem. I do change the water alot. Was also recommended to me to put ice in the water to keep it down to 65-70 degrees and put 1oz. of 3% peroxide per 4 gals of water. Hope this helps you. P.S. one of the members on here who goes by the name of Lane can help you out a great deal, she did me, and she and her husband own Sure Life. They advertise on this forum. I'm sure if you have question, you can P.M. her and she'll answer anything you need. Can also go to www.sure-life.com Doug
  15. I'm going to put a raised deck in my boat and was wondering if 1/8" alum. would be thick enough? I plan on putting 1" square alum. stock every foot for support. (joists) Just wondering if the sheet stock is thick enough. Thanks Doug

Must have grabbed hold of it sometime while in the brush. My finger are swelled up so bad I can't get my wedding ring off!!!
