Trolling Motor Batteries
I've learned a lot on this site about battery maint. One of the most important was to put your batteries on a charger (preferably an onboard charger) as soon as you get home from fishing. I'm beginning my fourth year on my battery's and they are still holding strong. Check the water and keep them plugged in till I'm ready to go fishing. Doug

Minn Kota problem
I have a 55# Minn Kota Powerdrive TM. On the foot pedal it has the speed slide 1-10. When on 1-4 it does not work. 5-10 work? Does anybody have the answer to this? My battery is brand new and fully charged. Thanks for any help. Doug

The right jet boat
I have a 16' Lowe with a 60 yamaha jet and would not go any lower in horse power. Like someone said you loose about 1/3 or a little more of your horse power when you put the pump on the bottom. I can go any where I want with two people and all our gear in about 5" of water--as long as you don't find that one rock that got push up from high water With 3 people it is more like 6-7" of water. My Rem-oil rant
I'm sure the lithium grease is good, but just checked my guns again and still no rust. Have hunted in the rain many times and still no rust? Without going down into my room in my basement to read the WD40 can, I thought it says displaces moisture and prevents/loosens rusted parts? Maybe the next time I'm at the sporting goods store I'll check out that grease, but it would seem to me that guy had a little more going on with that gun than just wiping it down with WD40 :-/ Doug

My Rem-oil rant
Not to sound stupid, but what is wrong with WD-40? I have used it for 25+ years with no problems. My guns all work great and with no rust. Just curious. Thanks Doug

braided line question
Thanks for the info guys! I'm going to get some of the power pro and give it a try. Was up in Canada last weekend for a tournament I fish at a lodge and lost three 4-5# largemouth. All three hit not to soon after my senko hit the water and with the mono I was using, I know I did not get a good hook set waayyy out at the end of my cast. On all three tried setting the hook again as I was bringing them in, but lost all!! Would have been the difference from 9th place to at least 3rd and about $800, plus maybe lunker ($250) This is really the reason I want to try braid. Doug

braided line question
You guys that use braided line, couple questions for you. What kind do you like? Never use any of it before, but kinda like the feel of power pro, it feels a little more softer than others. What pound test should I get for bass, up to 5# class? Do you tie directly to the hook or use a leader? I would think if you would tie to the hook without a leader, it would be the strongest, but didn't know if the fish would see it better. Thanks for any info. Doug

wire weed gaurd
Anybody tie there own weed guards on there hooks? I have a ton of worm hooks that I will probably never use and thought that I might try to tie some weed guards on them to use for fishing 6 and 7 inch stickworms (senko type) in the weeds. Anybody ever do this? How did you go about it? Thanks Doug

Do you hunt?
As much as I can. Hunt deer-archery, rifle, and muzzleloader-, small game, and groundhogs. My oldest son has been able to hunting for the past two years and loves it as much as me. The next boy will be able to hunt this year, and am looking very forward to that. My daughter is only 4, but I hope she is interested also. She loves going for ATV rides at our place and looking at the deer. 8-) Yesterday when we went for a ride, she told everyone that we saw 6 deer, 3 rabbits, and 4 chipmunks.

TOWING BOAT ON HIGHWAY WITH SEATS ON
I also just pull the post and put the seat back in the base. Probably wouldn't have to, but better safe than sorry. Maybe less wind resistant to??? Doug

new tires/psi ???
No, my boat is not that heavy. These tires are more heavy duty than the last ones. They were 4 ply/B class and these are 6ply/c class. So they are really more than what I needed, but got them at a good price.

new tires/psi ???
Just put new tires on my trailer and they are a little stronger tire (last ones B class, these C class) It states the cold psi should be 90, the other ones were 60psi. Should I put that much air in them? Seems like a lot, but that is what it says. Thought maybe it was for a bigger load rating, so I wouldn't need to put that much in, but I don't want to wreak the tire if it is under inflated. Also, might it "bounce" around more so if the tires are at that psi because they are so hard and with the weight of the trailer it doesn't really call for a tire of this rating. Thanks Doug

Grilling Steaks.
the_Conceited_ReDnEcK Hey your marinade sounds great!! One stupid question, do you use the coke AND the JD or SC or just one of the three? Can't wait to try it. I always enjoy trying different marinades w/steak. Thanks Doug
