  1. ^^ true^^ right across the lake from the ramp, shouldn't be hard to find since they have a big white pole sticking out of the top of it so people don't run into it. which reminds me, if you see a white pole sticking out, no matter how far away from the bank it may be, DO NOT go between it and the bank or you will be replacing your lower unit, my god the points run out far on that lake.
  2. Lexington lakes wernt hardly down at all, except Beech this last summer. Sardis and Enid were only down about 2 feet from normal pool, but that is around 12 - 15 feet from spring pool. so those lakes wernt hit that bad. They did shut Grenada down for awhile tho, and I dunno about Arklabutla. Someone else also mentioned Lake Graham, which was so low you couldn't get under the bridge, therefore cutting off half the lake. The biggest shame is Horseshoe lake just outside West Memphis, the lake has been down about 7 feet for the past 2 year's, one ramp open, the other ramps arent even close to the water anymore. They started pumping something like 5000 gallons of water an hour down the old dried up creek bed, which didnt even make it to the lake
  3. no smallmouth in the lake, but yes it is a great lake. last i was there tho about 5 months ago the lake was VERY VERY VERY VERY low. be carefull when going, the lake has many points that run sometimes a good 1/3 of a mile out in to the lake, if not further.
  4. my top 5 #1 Scott Martin Challenge #2 Bassmaster's Elite #3 The Bass Pro's #4 Ultimate Match Fishing #5 Hank Parker (hasn't sold out just yet) I really don't enjoy watching fishing on TV that much, I enjoy informative stuff and tournament's alot more that I do just watching people reel fish in. Most hated #1 One more cast with Shaw Grisby (SUFFIX, SUFFIX, SUFFIX) #2 Roland Martin (oh look there I caught him right under the Mercury 225 Optimax) #3 Bill Dance (hey folks we are here in my aquarium, hey camera man stick another 4 pounder clone of the last fish on my hook) #4 Al Linder (don't know what it is about this guy, maybe his accent, haven't liked him since I was a kid) #5 Allen Warren Outdoors (pansy with a glove)
  5. /slap I can't stand what Bill Dance has become, all he does is float around in his private aquarium and tell you the same information he has said for the past 30 year's, if you've seen one or two shows you have seen them all in my opinion. my top 5 #1 Scott Martin Challenge #2 Bassmaster's Elite #3 The Bass Pro's #4 Ultimate Match Fishing #5 Hank Parker (hasn't sold out just yet) I really don't enjoy watching fishing on TV that much, I enjoy informative stuff and tournament's alot more that I do just watching people reel fish in. So I'll include my top 5 hated show's. #1 One more cast with Sponser, I mean Shaw Grisby (SUFFIX, SUFFIX, SUFFIX) #2 Roland Martin (oh look there I caught him right under the Mercury 225 Optimax) #3 Bill Dance (hey folks we are here in my aquarium, hey camera man stick another 4 pounder clone of the last fish on my hook) #4 Al Linder (don't know what it is about this guy, maybe his accent, haven't liked him since I was a kid) #5 Allen Warren Outdoors (pansy with a glove)
  6. ITS TOO COLD!! SOMEBODY LET MOTHER NATURE KNOW THAT IT'S TOO COLD OUTSIDE!!! Forget the sauger bite until you get to Coffee Landing. Ton's of boat's at the Dam, Shiloh and River Heights. No fish to be caught by me and only saw 2 small ones pulled in. Tried to do some bass fishing but just packed it up after about 30 minutes of that, way too cold.
  7. skipjack are very very abundant behind the dam, they hit anything mimicing a minnow and aren't bad fighter's. alot of people just toss them on the bank because they are considered trash fish. the really cool thing about them is after you catch them and put them back they play dead and just sorta float downstream for a bit before they take off.
  8. I couldn't imagine throwing a 2 lbs test line on a baitcaster
  9. hey man, you can go with me sometime, i will probaly make my way there in a few week's and alot more over the summer, just be warned that i leave early =)
  10. the boat look's in real good condition for $350. Depending on how big you are into fishing tho it may be worth just taking your time and going for a bigger used boat, like around 17 or 18 feet console steering, all that good stuff. If you take your time (I spent about 6 month's waiting for a good deal to come along) then you will be suprised how much you can get for such little money.
  11. Pickwick Landing is the ramp at the dam...in TN, atleast to me it is haha. I was a bit confused on which stretch you wanted to fish, curse those long lakes.
  12. Any Sunday I can make it, can't make it on any days other than Sunday unfortunately tho. Thats also assuming we are putting in either at Pickwick landing or JP Coleman's.
  13. a bigger motor toter which was very needed. a 3 bank 10 amp onboard charger which was even more needed. some thermal underwear, tobaggan and thick sock's. beef jerky, white chocolate pretzels, cheeseball. new wallet
  14. thats correct, LMB don't really prefer moving water. But if they don't have a chance then thats what they got to deal with.
  15. murry crissmas yo.
  16. minuteman bass keeping haters group! I love it!
  17. mmm in the FLW tourny the BP pro caught a couple nice ones on a hump to the left of the channel right before the dam, fishing the west (i think) side of the lake a mile of so before Panther creek has also produced some smallies for me also.
  18. putting in at pickwick landing? count me in, just lemme know a time and place a couple weeks in advance if possible...btw, Sunday's are best for me.
  19. Mmmm if your talkin about horny toad's and ribbit's then I never have used a trailer, and rarely ever miss a fish on them either. but it sound's like a good idea.
  20. Couple cheap fishin poles. Bag's that are so nasty covered in crap that you can hardly tell its still a bag. Ive caught fish that have plastic's in their mouth, first person on the lake and catching a bass with a zoom lizard in his mouth makes you wonder how long the fish will sit there with it. The strangest would have to be a 3 inch grub suspended floating around on a rattletrap, what are the chances of that?
  21. gratz man, now PICTURES!!!@#$$#@!!
  22. If they did that down south the fishing season would be closed from Febuary thru July. The lakes would quickly become over populated with small bass and that would be a problem. We have gone over this many, many times. The effect that catching spawning bass has on the bass population depends on where in the country you live, clearity of the water, number of bass, and so on. Here in the south it is impossible to have any negative effect on the bass population due to the length of the spawn and the large number of bass. However if you live in the colder states you will find that the spawn is short and the bass aren't on the top of the food chain in your lakes and you can hurt that years hatch by bed fishing. well said.
  23. Oh gawd that stuffs all I have to read in my parent's bathroom after a long day of fishing ;D Althou I think the oldest one ive read in awhile was in 1990
  24. Does any current move through the lake? Does it have a spillway and if so, what type? Ps. Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around as much lately :-/
  25. be thankfull, i'll take northern strain over florida ANY day
