Been so busy, getting ready for a 2nd baby. He'll be here next month, and I'm about done with all of the honey do's. I think the work has just begun however. Not sure if I'll have much free time for a while after he comes. Maybe in the spring. I'll try and get out there this weekend, the bite sure seems to be on.

Hahaha, great story. Glad everything worked out. Good thing your hook/lure was ok. ;D I remember a few years back I was fishing in the outer banks on a pier and I saw a fella cast and hook a flying seagull, it was great. 8-)

Sweet, I might just pick up a few in thier online store and try them out. They seem to be thinking "outside the box" with a few of the designs. I like that.

John, I just called and checked and they do not. They said the lakes are for the private use of the campers. Yea, the weekend entrance fee is a bit steep. but Mon-Thursday entrance fee is only $7.

So I will end up heading out to camp at The Cove Campground this weekend. I'm looking forward to fishing some unfamiliar waters. They have 3 spring fed lakes, which they say are stocked with small and largemouth. Interesting. Has anyone on here fished this place? I understand they have jon boats and canoes also. Seems like a nice place. Looks like there will be some good entertainment there this weekend also, off road jamboree baby!!! Hopefully I come back with a good fishing report.

Trev, take it easy, I'll be using the larger baits, no doubt. I never disagreed with the big bait/big fish thing. Of course that is the case, most times. I'm just not going to totally change up my usual tackle and methods, thats all. ^^ I know youre just trying to help out Trev.

Dan, I agree with what you are saying also. I used a #5 Black Fury, one of the largest they have, yet still small in the grand scheme of things. This thing vibrates like crazy too. I might just come right back with it or another color #5 to start, and if nothing go with the 10" worm and if that wont work, i might have to get Andrew out there to root her out....

Not a bad idea of going at night. I'm probably going this weekend to try a few things. I was thinking a jig of course, but i've got little confidence there. Also thinking about a 10" Culprit worm, or maybe give that 3/8oz spinnerbait a try. Just curious Trev, why those blades specifically? Gotta come up with something to snag this baby. 8-)
