  1. Many years ago a stray cat got up in my boat and used one of my seats for a scratching pole. I am not going to reveal how I solved that problem, but it was permanent.
  2. I just finished replacing the tires and put new wheels on my trailer two weeks ago. I tried to use several of the tires that I had, but the shop(Discount Tire) refused to mount them as one was 8 yrs. old and the other was 10 yrs old. Two tires were fine so I ended up with four new wheels, two new tires and two tires that were ok. I kept the best looking tire and wheel from the originals for a spare. Personally I think it is a sales ploy they use to require you to buy additional tires when they tell you they cannot mount them as they are too old. Of course, the trailer was in the air w/o any mounted tires when they let me know so I was at their mercy. They even refused to even air up the tire I am using for a spare(I had to go elsewhere) as they said it was a risk and they did not want to be responsible. FYI, I only used Discount Tire because they were the only ones in my area that had the wheels in stock. I don't like doing business with them at all.
  3. Well I spent from 1:00-6:00pm on Lake Conroe yesterday. I fished hard. Boat docks, beds, brushpiles in 10-15', points, and the shallow river ledges. NOT ONE BITE. The weather was perfect, and the water was in great shape. Saw several large fish on beds but they were very spooky, not one would stay around whenever you pitched a tube or lizard in on them. I pride myself on being able to put a pattern together when I'm on the water, but this was ridiculous. Can't do it without making some contact with something. Never saw another boat hookup either. I fished tubes, lizards, baby brushhogs, lake fork worms, small crank-baits, buzz-baits, traps, and even some dt-16s, but nothing. They owe me, I'll be back at them midweek so we will see what happens. hope everyone else did a little better. Good luck to all.
  4. Yea, and check out the names that were posting those numbers. Lots of great fishermen. Van Dam didn't fare to well though. Think he was down below the 150 spot if I remember. That's Johathan not Kevin though.
  5. It is a great product. Just to remind everyone it will not remove the oxidation that you have developed from lack of care. It is great though for what it is designed to do.
  6. Unless you are totally against doing it, it is going to cost you. If you can change the spark plugs in your car, you can do all of those jobs. Just take your time, they are not as complicated as you think.
  7. Some shops do it free in this area but that does not sound out of line. It will be the best money you ever spend.
  8. Glad it was not worse. Always use safety chains also. It will stop the boat from running away from you and in Texas it is a law that you have them. Saw a boat get loose last year on 59N out of Houston, crossed the median and drilled a black mustang. Boat was worth 500.00 before the accident. Mustang was worth about that after the accident. Lucky though no one was hurt.
  9. Sounds to me like you need a new partner...Unless, of course your always fishing out of his rig. Get him a video or a book explaining the techniques.
  10. Hell, I can't even get on the water. Doctor told me Wed. that I can start half days so I'm going to Conroe within the next three days. Now if the D&*^ wind would just blow 10-15 instead 20-45 I would be happy.
  11. First S.A.L. ever from this lake. Caught in 6' water at 6:15 pm on a jig.
  12. If you go out 20-50 miles you need a boat that can handle the swells, two motors, extra radio, extra battery, extra gas, and last A good dose of common sense! Looks like they had none of the above.
  13. He's 35 and on a downhill slide. Probably Al Davis. He would fit in well with the rest of the convicts.
  14. Throw the clean motor stuff out the window. You better get it checked out by someone that knows what they are doing. It's your own fault if you don't.
  15. Would it be possible to have the words Banjo and Minnow stricken from our language if they are ever used in a phrase that refers to fishing?
  16. The 2-3 lbs up always go back any time of year. If I had to eat bass(And I don't), it would be all those popcorn spots that are infesting our lakes. They are worse than rabbits and are out of control in this area. Please, all you s.e. boys, I'm not refering to those beautiful Alabama spotted bass that grow up and down the Coosa chain. They are a different species and I would love to be back there catching a few.
  17. That will be great , now if we can just keep the double digits away from them.
  18. Very nice work. congratulations.
  19. Nice purchase. Now go hit the water.
  20. Please tell me you got the titles to the boat, motor, and trailer. If so, a great deal. If not, the deal will probably suck.
