Hit your area pawn shops. Not the chains like american pawn either. They all price their stuff high. Find the lesser known shops that are individually owned. Go by and try to get to know the owners. They will cut you deals and even let you know what is coming out of the back room. I buy a lot of stuff from several and all the good buys are always completed before the merchandise ever hits the shelves.

I work from home. I have built a small insurance agency over the last few years and being disabled(I finally came off disability March 1) I am out searching for the elusive next new client. The area around here is flooded with circuits. I wish they would combine a few and let some of the others just go away. Any weekend you can pick from around 20+ tournaments to fish on the lakes, granted a lot are under 50 boats it is still way too many. You can also fish a tournament on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and I'm not sure about Friday but there probably is one. Too many. Yes, I fish tournaments to.

When you fish tungsten you better count them. At todays price they are as pricy as some lures. Academy price for three 5/8 oz. is 6.12.

X2 and that was tungsten weights that got hung up in the rocks on Ray Hubbard.

I would be changing brands of line and purchasing a lure retriever. Get the one with the chains on it.

Flip, lip, net, or sling. Any way to make sure that fish clears the top deck and comes to rest in the livewell. Fishing is a bloodsport. It is not for the faint of heart.

Dang, I'm suprised with the jig being mention so much. We may have to have a jig class. First trim the weed guard back, don't drag a jig. How's that for starters? Lures that don't work: My 18.00 Castaic crankbait that I bought in 1991. Looks great, runs true, and never been touched by anything.

I fish the Terminator because they are easily found in my area. I'm not happy with them, but I just do the skirt and blade changes as necessary. I wish I could find one with the head design, blade and shaft length, and configuration I prefer, but I cannot. Guess I will keep on tearing them down and rebuilding them. As for War Eagle baits, just read my signature and you will know why I cannot tie one on.
