Mercury Optimax 115 or 150
You will be kicking yourself if you do not buy the Triton with the 150. Go run both boats and see for yourself the difference in the performance of the 115 up against the 150.

Is 40 LB thrust enough?
Never enough. Remember that when you end up upgrading in a few months.

Another Conroe Share Lunker
Yep, the hatchery picked it up. Shame it could not have been caught in the big tournament this weekend. Would have been worth a new Silverado or a Titan pickup. Unless someelse catches one larger

Amistad!
If you are fishing in June you better be up on deep water structure fishing. I would bet the better fish will be caught in the deeper grass on a big jig.

It was not my shoulder...
You might say I have a little experience. Six neck surgeries, three plates and a dozen screws. I am fused at the following: C2-3, 3-4,4-5,5-6,and 6-7. Now, what you wanta know? Pain in the neck, rt. shoulder, rt. elbow, and forearm. Tingling in forearm, numbness from the shoulder down. I'll stop there, but there is plenty more. I've had four anterior and two posterior surgeries. They have been in both front sides of my neck twice and the rear section twice. I could write a medical journal on the crap.

Registering a Boat in Texas
I agree a lot of the laws seem senseless; however, they are for our protection. (We're from the government, and we are here to help you).

Stuck Lug Nuts "Update"
Torque the new studs and bolts at 100 ft. lbs. I had new wheels put on my trailer at Discount Tire last week and asked them what the correct torque specs were.

Pet peave's that shouldn't be
Talking on the cell phone and not saying a da*% thing. My wife and her sister will stay on the phone an hour conducting a conversation that should/can be completed in five minutes or less. They sit there thinking without saying a word for minutes, just mumbling, while each tries to think of something else to mumble about. Drives me up the wall.

Registering a Boat in Texas
I knew there was no title before I ever opened this thread. You will have to get the father and yourself down to TP&WD and he will have to file for a lost title. They will do a check to make sure he is the rightful owner. If it is someone else, let me be the first to be the beaer of bad news. You will have to locate the original owner. Again: NEVER, EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING W/O PROPER PARERWORK At least here in Texas.

My Boat
BTECH, I have an older Hummingbird LCR8000 head unit, power cable and transducer that is just sitting in my garage. It comes with the split screen function and a ton of other functions that may help you. I'm not using it. If it will help you just let me know. You may be able to just plug it into your system and have it for an upgrade. Price? Just cover the shipping and it is yours. Sorry to hear about the tranny. Thought this might help you make it through the day. The mount and unit are 12" across. Screen is 5 3/4" H and 6 1/2" across. Yea, it resembles a small LCD TV. Yes, it is a working unit.

Several of those must be related to my wife's side of the family.

Boat Insurance
Which ever you buy you need to have a complete understanding on what will happen if and when you have a claim. Understand your deductible, any co-insurance or any other hidden quirks that may come into play. Make friends with your agent. It will go a long way in helping resolve any disputes. And yes, their will be disputes over the coverage limits. Just remember this word...Depreciation>>>You need to understand how it may affect your coverage at claim time.

Amistad!
Fish the grass in 20-25 or 30 ' with a big jig or worm and you will get bit big. Water is usually very clear. Big Zara Spooks on the deeper points will draw strikes also. Drop shots and the usual other suspects will work.

Tourney tactics question...
Two practice days and you have a spot that is really loaded up with good fish. You go in the first morning and catch a 6, a 4, two threes, and a five. You are only allowed to weigh in a five fish limit. This being a two day tournament are you going to sit there half the day and catch as many as possible? I doubt it. Whether they bite the next day or not, the smart thing to do is back away and HOPE you can catch a few more the next day. Sometimes it works and other times not. It's a sure bet you won't catch a lot the second morning if you wear them out the first day. You have to give yourself a chance. If it is a one day tournament, you bet I will try to work them over squeesing every ounce out of that pile of fish I can.

I'm home thick today
Sounds like something three 10mg. Vicodins would help.

Any advice on freeloading tenant
If possible you can turn off all utilities, water, etc. Or, if it is well covered just light it and see how fast he leaves.

What was your best day on the water?
Several years ago I was WOT running to weighin and out of the corner of my eye something caught my eye. Normally I would have never made a move, but for some reason I cut the boat and found a family (Husband, wife, and three children) that had been swamped and were in dire trouble. My partner and I picked them up. They had been in the water a while and the wife said they had given up hope of being rescued. Can't claim to saving their life, but it was getting on in the day and they were at least a thousand yards from any hard ground and not a lot of boats on the water. Never saw or heard from the family after that day. Hope they are all doing well. Not that it matters, but we did miss the weighin. Could have cared less though. It ain't all about the fish all the time!
