  1. It will all depend on the weather.
  2. It is a draw format. You will not fish with your boater unless you happen to draw out that way. Good luck
  3. The wife enjoys it when she is fishing with me. She catches a lot of fish, but they are all on the small size. About 2 lbs. being the largest. We go to the smokies a couple of times a year and she enjoys the trout fishing. I personally do not fly fish, but she has a ball doing it.
  4. I prefer our winters. very little, if any snow and it only stays cold a few days at a time. Our summers are killers. A lot of the radio stations have a thing about it being 80 by 8:00am. 95 by 2:00 and 100 by 3:00. Just come on down and try to enjoy one of our summers. Several years ago we had twenty something days in a row when the high temp was always over 108. That year I fished a tournament on Lake Texoma on Labor Day weekend and it hit 111+ three days in a row. It's so hot that you have no choice but to fish at night, or face heat stroke each day. It sucks. Our humidity usually matches our high temps. (95-100%)
  5. Bass-N-Bucks drew 215 boats last weekend on Rayburn. One day tournament was won with a trap in 4 ft and weighed a little over 22 lbs. I know of at least thre other 20+ lb sacks...All on a trap.
  6. Frogs, blades, and plastics. If you will fish a heavier blade down in the column and slow it down will turn the pad and it is not a problem to get it by the split. If you get the line in the pad slit just work the blade slowly up toward the pad and it usually will turn in the water.
  7. Baby Brushhog and fish it T-rig.
  8. They have been discussing it on another forum and everyone seems to think they will. Problem is all Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations have to go up for public discussion and the regs are only changed every September 1. Unless an exception is made(Doubt that) it would have to wait until then.
  9. Actually they are pretty good. Just not good enough to win an NFL game. Most of thier losses have been close, except for 3-4 blowouts.
  10. I spent more than that Saturday. Those 100 MPH suits ain't cheap. Now I have one for me and one to keep a draw quite so I can fish when it's raw. Nothing worse than a whining draw that's cold to knock you off your game.
  11. My wife resents all the Zebco 33 bashing.
  12. I never flip. Most are pitching, rollcast, or sidearm skip.
  13. Most of my fishing is with plastics unless the conditions force me to make a change. You are missing a lot of fish by limiting yourself to just the plastics. Not sure about everyone else, but I have a hard time feeling the lure and the bite in 20-30 mph winds. when this happens I wil pick up a crankbait or a blade and go to work. I have seen a few occasions when the fish wanted a faster moving bait. Example is when you get bit reeling in the plastic for another cast. this tells me that I should be throwing a faster moving lure.
  14. I never use them, but a lot on this site do. Just my preference.
  15. Medium heavy with a fast tip.
  16. Keep a regular life jacket in the boat if you are not going to wear it all the time. Some Type 5 jackets will get you a ticket if it is not on your body every minute you are on the water.
  17. Not me. The idea of catching dinks does nothing for me.
  18. First prediction: OU 98 Fla 97 7 OTs I have trouble trying to decide if I am watching the football scores on the ticker or basketball scores. Bring back a little defense please...
  19. 1.36 here today. Oh happy days. I guess...It's still too high.
  20. Looks like they can hide. Wonder if they can fly and shoot.
  21. Will try to help you set up a trip. Catt and I are fishing one of my club tournaments this coming weekend on Toledo so it will probably have to be after the holidays. Just stay in touch and I will get on some fish after Jan. 1 and we will set it up. As far as gas goes, forget it. When we get together you just cover your gas getting here. The rest is on me. Jack
  22. Nice fish. BTW do those lizards eat dogs? I would carry a pistol if it was me. We have a critter here that eats dogs, it's called a gator. Your familiar with those too.
