  1. The saying around here is "when fishing the bank 90% of the fish are at your back". Move out and learn to fish deeper water. The trick to fishing a C/R is to tye it on and cast it. Just drag it back to the boat in short pulls. You will get bit if you around fish. You said you told your club members where you caught your fish. Not wise, it is great to tell them how you caught them but I would let them figure out the where on their own. good luck and good fishing.
  2. Welcome Back off the bream beds to a little deeper water. the bass will hold out deeper and then move in and raid the bream beds early and late.
  3. Welcome Enjoy
  4. Excellent job Bobby. I fish your products a lot and have lots of confidence that they do help me catch more fish. The wrap job looks excellent. Good luck and keep the new lure designs coming.
  5. I know of no one that has ever admitted to buying any. Stay away, there are other things that will do a lot better job. They are designed to seperate you from your money. Welcome to the forum if I have not allready done so.
  6. Unfortunately for me it does not happen often enough. It has been several years since I have had a double digit on the other end.
  7. This went around several weeks ago and I still think it is funny. Wish I had been there. Still LMAO.
  8. That sucks. I keep pictures and product descriptions of everything I own just in case I need to file a claim. Everyone should do this and keep it updated, filed in a safe place, as well as sending a copy to your agent so they will have it on file. This will go a long way when it is time to file a claim. Be good friends with your agent and keep them informed.
  9. I keep a running inventory of all my tackle. I restock as needed as well as purchasing newer market items as they are released. 50.00-75.00 a month.
  10. If you are fishing a 40 strand skirt entertain the thought of removing a few of the Chartrues strands. This will lower the overall profile of the skirt as well as tone down the color somewhat. I like to reduce the strands to around twenty. I've seen it make a huge difference. You want the fish to be able to see it, but not get a good enough look at it to decide that it is a fake. I tend to fish most of my blades in the upper water column as this allows the fish to see the comotion but not see it for what it really is. Seems to make a lot of fish go ahead and commit to the strike instead of turning away. Try it sometime when you have fish swirling at at it . This usually confirms that either the color is off or the lure profile is either too large or bulky. JMO.
  11. Yes, as the Chartruse color looks grey as it goes deeper. Indiana blade is fine depending on the visibility. You need a blade to push more water the less visibility you have. Be sure that the color is uniform. Many times you will have a tinge to the water that is only on the surface, but from the conditions you have stated the water probably is uniform through out. You can change the amount of water a blade will move by changing the cup of the blade. This will also help control the speed of the bait. If the water is stained and you want to control the speed you can acomplish this by flattening the blade or changing to a larger blade. Be careful though, by changing to a larger blade you will increase the overall profile of the lure and there are times you do not want to do that. Flattening the blade will increase the arc of its swing and the amnount of pull it will have when you retrieve it. You can change a blade by using pliers to crimp the edge or if you are off the water you can use a trailer hitch ball to hammer the desired cup you want.
  12. Excellant job. they look great.
  13. Nice job. good luck and enjoy it.
  14. X2, I left that out of my post.
  15. Reliant Energy here in Houston has been adjusting prices for years. Every May they raise the price per kilowatt and then lower it in October. My electric bills average over 400.00 a month for the July-September time frame. My home is not total electric either.
  16. If you ever need a tilt/trim motor for it let me know. I had one just like it go out several years ago and found a dealer on Lake Livingston that stocks them They are just north of 100.00 per unit. FYI, they are the same unit that Cesnna uses to retract the landing gears on their airplanes and there are rebuild kits available for them. Don't try to buy from Cesnna though, they charge twice what a boat dealer does.
  17. Your looking at least 1,500.00 to do the top cap. I have an older Skeeter(1988) that I was looking to have the top redone and that is about the price quoted. As a suggestion you might want to price a wrap for just the top cap. I was quoted a price of 525.00 for the material to put a wrap on just the top cap. They can printout the wrap to match the original color or put any design and grapics you would like for that price. The price quoted was just the wrap and not the installation. I have researched the labor and it is not a hard job to install yourself. Let me know if you would like the info from the dealer that quoted it for me. They are in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and will ship.
  18. Congratulations on your new purchase. Enjoy!t
  19. Sorry to hear of your loss. Nice pics and good looking fish Reguards.
  20. First, Welcome to the forum Small crankbaits in Shad and crawfish colors Plastics in Camo, watermellon/red, plum, black/blue, cinnamon, for starters 1/4 and/or 3/8 spinnerbaits with a natural colored skirt. I thin out my skirts this time of year down from 40 strands to about twenty to downsize the profile of the bait. Something white with silver or blue sparkle on the skirt should work. If the drain is deeper you will need to adjust the size of all weights and SB heads to allow the lures to go deeper. The larger fish may very well be staged out deeper, so do not just go in and fish the area that is up close. Back out looking for stumps, brush, and grass in the outlying deeper areas. Good luck
  21. Would have been nice to attend. Unfortunately, I have bass tournament that weekend.
