  1. When I fish some of the larger tournaments I just unhook everything, back it down, and sent it sailing out into the cove away from as many as possible. I go park and get anyone to give me a lift out to my boat. Keeps from me tying up the ramp when fishing by myself. Be sure to trim the motor up and have it straight or it's a mess though. I also do not advise anyone that is not completely familiar with this procedure to try it. A few of us have done it for years, but it can certainly damage another's boat if you are not careful.
  2. If you let the dealer junk it he is going to just tune it up and sell it. Why not help cut the cost of your new motor by resaleing it. Put out the word and you will probably have it gone by the weekend.
  3. You will also be required to give them your SS#. they use it to make sure someone is paidup on their child support. If you are filed on for nonpay they will not issue the license.
  4. No refund they knew better Sounds like they thought they might slide by. Be firm Be fair Be consistant
  5. I use 65# Suffix in our grass.
  6. Comon guys it is not that hard. When the fishing is slow move out away from everything and try it out. when you have the skip down move in and start trying to put it where you need to. Keep fresh line on the spool and it will help. Tough to skip when it has memory.
  7. I never usa a leader on braid unless I am carolina rigging.
  8. Roadwarrior has the correct plan for you. Don't give up on the baitcasters just yet. Set up an area in your yard and practice with them. I think you will find that you will come around pretty quickly with them. If you are fishing from a boat be sure to set up a platform that will put you above the ground that is close to the same as it would be from the water in a boat to get the correct casting angles. Good luck.
  9. I use a roll cast and my thumb.
  10. I guess I am different on this subject. My height is the determining factor when choosing a rod. I am 6' tall and have problems using anything over 7' and most of my rods fall between 6'6" and 7'. I just cannot flip or pitch effectly with anything over 7. I also take into consideration the distance from the water I am standing in my boat. I run a Skeeter, but if I was forced to fish some other and it changed the overall height I am use to it might make me change rod lengths to compensate.
  11. I fish an Allstar 7' MH with a fast tip.
  12. 6.2 or 7.1 Enables me to turn the fish quickly and move him/her away from any limb, rock, dock piling, etc. as quickly as possible.
  13. I never have and I also do not lay any finger across the line. Just my preference.
  14. Welcome, nice pics. Enjoy the forum
  15. Draw a line across the center of the hub, run it, and then check to see if the line is still straight. If it has moved from being straight the hub has spun and needs to be repaired. The issue you describe tends to make me think that is what happened.
  16. Glad they were caught. Did they get any of the guns back?
  17. That is not a deal on the boat listed. PM sent.
  18. Worminator and Marty both get a 100 for my score. Good job to the both of you.
  19. Sad story. Wonder if he would have tried it at night if he had not been drinking?
  20. Sad story, but you just can't fix stupid. Boats and alcohol do not mix.
  21. Check the floor, stringers, and transom for rot. If they are bad there is no bargain at any price for the boat. Run a compression check reguardless of how well the motor runs. If the compression is not up to snuff stay away.
  22. The fish should not have been weighed.
  23. I am always changing to see if I can find something they will hit better. When you fish a spot try several lures before moving on. Do not just put one down for the heck of it. you might be throwing the right one in the first place.
  24. Any idea where you are heading?
  25. Welcome Enjoy
