  1. I carry 8-12, but I'm an extremist. I try to rig each one with a different type, line diameter, and depth to keep me from having to change up so often. During prefish I have rods all over the place. If I have figured them out I am down to about four the first morning of the tournament. If not, there is no telling how many are on the deck. I have kicked more than one over the side at one time or another.
  2. What kind of prop? Tm or outboard?
  3. I recommend three: Sales Marketing Public speaking A minor in any field that you have developed an interest in
  4. Not me. I hate those things. I am old school and wil stay away from them. Never had a bite on the ONE I own.
  5. I am not sure that this might be a loaded post. Yes, since they came out 40 years ago.
  6. I'm impressed!
  7. I will give it a try with the understanding that I have never fished in Ohio. Not knowing what color the water is does not matter to me. I own over 5,000.00 worth of tackle and I do not own a green popper, orange toads, pink shakey heads, or blue spinner baits. It tells me that your colors are off when a fish follows a bait(among other things). I would start fishing the deeper pads early with either worms or baby brushhogs in the following colors. Camo, watermellon red, PB&J, black with bluetail, junebug, cinnamon, junebug/red, or any number of other darker colors. Chrome blue back traps in 1/2 oz are one of my go to baits in off color water. Bang them off any cover you can find. Fish the areas that other people cannot get to. C-rig the deeper areas with either worms, cetipedes, craw worms, or lizards in the above colors. Crankbaits in various colors and if the bottom is a harder substance make it dig into the bottom. Do not just chunk and crank. Run them into everything you can find and stop and go at different times. Fish everything in different cadances until you get bit. I would fish the plastics on 1/8 and 3/16 weights until I got out to the deeper water. Not sure why you keep going out there fishing the same thing. It is about choices(You and the fish). If something is not working try something different. I have used this as a starting point on a hundred lakes I had never seen and it works. Find out what everyone else is doing and try something different. Why are you so hung up on colorado blades for your SBs? I personally would be throwing Indiana or willowleaf just to show them something different. In fact I would prefer the willowleaf and keep it in the twilight zone(The area just below where you cannot see the SB). If it's got bass in it I will find a way to get bit. Just a matter of time on the water. Good luck Also, if you will give me the name and it has a location in Navionics explorer I will mark it for you. As for as your signature goes, change it. The best fisherman is the one that hits the water and figures them out first and brings the largest sack to weighin more times than not. He is always the happiest.
  8. I bet she was a blonde. If so I dated her also.
  9. I have my health back(Sorta), fishing every chance I get.
  10. Lot better than most I've read. you are hired. I swore to myself to stay out of this section. I just could not help myself.
  11. I had the problem with missing the fish on the strike. I quit watching my toad and started getting a hookset. I was jerking it away while watching. Seems strange but it worked for me.
  12. If you are referring to topwater popers I don't use them much if any at all.
  13. Nope. I pause it for just a second. Don't want a fish to get a good look at it. Motify your retrive until the fish tell you what kind of pause and type of retrieve they want. Be aware that it can change quickly so keep at it.
  14. I must be living in the dark. First time I have heard of a chatterfrog. Don't care for the chatterbait either. Never had a hit with one.
  15. I use a Sb box as I do not like the skirts laying around and kinking up or melting together. I do not care for the Plano boxes that allow the baits to lay on their side. JMO.
  16. I fish a crankbait and slam it into anything I can guide it up to and if I am fishing 10-12 ft of water I like a bait that will run a little deeper than the depth I am fishing. That way I can dig it into the bottom. Stop and go, anything to make it change directions and action. I never just chunk and crank. Welcome to the forum.
  17. Everyone should realize why they are sold on TV and not the tackle stores. It's called impulse buying and everything is designed to seperate you from your money.
  18. I use a regular slipsinker that I texas rig with since day one and cannot tell a difference in that or the nailsl. Has worked for me for years and if you want to change from wacky worming just reposition the worm. I fish the 1/8 and 3/32 for the wacky rig.
  19. I suggest you talk with the owner and get his ideas about taking out either. Best way to get your invitation cancelled is to start culling out his fish whether it is good for it or not. Also, don't go around talking to everyone about it. If the owner starts getting inunadated with request he might change his mind. JMO.
  20. Loop line around the bend in the hook, press down on the hook eye, snap it straight away from the eye or lay your hand on the skin to get the correct level. It will work unless the barb has penetrated tendons and is painless. If the hook is in the tendons(You will know when you try the first time) or around the eyes a trip to the E/R is recommended. I fished eight and 1/2 hours with a rouge in my back several years ago. Not fun.
  21. I do not care for the H/C spools. Just more weight to get in the way.
  22. I own the following: 2 AT-66MHC 6'6" 2 ARS-7MH Genesis Titanium 7"0" I did not purchase any. They were either given to me by reps or won in a tournament. They are fine rods and if I was looking for a rod I would not hesitate to purchase one.
  23. FYI, I threw away about a dozen before I got the right look and balance on the Big Os i carve. Keep at it.
