  1. I fish only the hand operated just for that reason. No more broken cables for me.
  2. If you hook it to the TM batteries it can and will cause interference. Every time you touch the TM button the finder will go crazy. I have never left mine on and even if I did I don't think it will run the battery down in two days. Anyway my Skeeter has a master switch that kills everything.
  3. I learned to fish jigs years ago by leaving every other option at home. This forced me to figure it out or give up and go home. I have never given up on anything(Well maybe a marrige long ago) and I fished three days with nothing but a jig. I had my moments when I wondered if I had done the right thing. I know now that I did.
  4. I fish the traps 90% of the time and I do not qualify to make a comparison as I change out all the stock hooks before I fish one, so I cannot make a correct comparrison.
  5. I have no favorite. Lures are tools. I never decide what I am going to fish until I get to the lake and check out the water and weather conditions. I am just as likely to throw a crank, plastic, or jig as I am anything. Just depends on the conditions.
  6. I have had this reel for over 30 years. It is a 1905 DEUCE, Model PK. It is in great working condition; however it has small pits over a lot of the reel. I doubt it is worth much and not interested in selling. Just wondered if it was worth anything. I do not have the box. I say that as the box is usually worth as much or more than the item enclosed. Any ideas? Thanks
  7. Bobby; Thank you for the jigs. They just arrived and I received a 3/16 and 3/8 oz. in my packet. Even though I have not fished them, I am positive they will work on our grass filled lakes(Rayburn, Toledo, Conroe). I like the looks so well I will be placing an order on Friday. Thanks again, Jack Y Any of you that have not seen them need to take a long look at them. With the recessed eye for tying, they should work wonders in the grass as well as the quality of the materials used and the colors offered.
  8. Thanks guys, I guess I am going to have to talk to a game warden to find out. Will let everyone know if I get a solid answer. Anyone else that might have the answer let me know. Thanks
  9. What's the deal with these. I was told you had to wear them constantly while on the water or it is a violation. Fellow told me he got a ticket because it was lying in the boat. I read the info on one and it clearly states that it must me worn. Is this so? I want one, but not if I have to wear it all the time to be legal. Anyone got the lowdown? Thanks
  10. Go to a parking lot and practice. You will be suprised how fast you pick it up. Most of the people at the launch will have no problem helping you if you just ask.
  11. I use the B/R log in the tacklebox section. It is simple yet gives me the information I need. Too much is just too much.
  12. I am partial to the Baby Brushhogs. I c-rig, Texas rig, and pitch them.
  13. No, No, and No. Your money can be better spent.
  14. Welcome. Follow them out the same route they came in.
  15. Welcome. Fish the cover and pay paticular attention to any out by itself toward the deeper water.
  16. Welcome
  17. Welcome and enjoy.
  18. Good show. Hate to see it go.
  19. Brings back lots of memories.
  20. I'll take some. Looks great.
  21. Sam you know everyone in Alabama is born rooting for one or the other. I know I was. Roll Tide! Rammer jammer, oh you know the drill. Sorry for the hijack.
  22. It 's stronger right under the decal where it says Advanced NANO CARROT FIBER Technology. BTW Burley, if that 's your lawn you need to sharpen them lawn mower blades. All fishermen's yards should look like that.
  23. I go a lot of times and never spend a dime. Just enjoy walking and looking at the new items. They do try to make it a fun time while you are being seperated from your hard earned money. Glad you enjoyed it.
  24. Check the bass clubs in your area. They usually have monthly tournaments and you would be paired up with a member that has a boat each month. I have never heard of shore tournaments, but I don't doubt that there are a few around.
  25. Sorry, It is called brain fade. I was thinking about too many things when I was typing. I should know better, I built drag racing engines for years and set many records with them. Have no idea what the heck I was thinking. Please excuse me.
