  1. Let me refrase it. Here is what Skeeter and Ranger told us. You can put their name on your shirt without any problems, it just cannot be their official logo. this is the way they can control their Trademarks, patent issues, and liability. This way if someone causes a problem or hurts someone while wearing or representing them it will leave them with liability. If it is just the name of the boat and not official they are not liable. That is why they do not allow it among a list of many others. You know how those attornies are. We asked them about injuring or killing someone and the boat had their name on it and all they would tell us is that is another issue entirely.
  2. Welcome
  3. Hello and Welcome.
  4. Be very careful putting a boat logo on your shirt. Reputable companies that put logos on shirts willnot do the boat unless you have written permission from the manufacturer. Other patches are ok, but there are issues with the boat logos. We ran into this putting shirts together for kids for one of our club functions. We were not allowed to put the boat company logo on the shirts. BASS does not allow blue jeans to be worn by the pros during their Elite tournaments. Great that you want to present yourself in a professional manner. I commend you for it. Good Luck!
  5. Robert, I have a terrier bird dog mix. It is black and white, mild mannered, short hair, 30lbs., and the best dog I ever owned. If you want to look for a dog go to petfinder.com and you can check out all the dogs in the pounds in your area. that's how I found mine. Good luck! My daughter has a Jack Russell and it is the only dog I have ever wanted to pinch a head off of. It is the most irritating thing I have ever been around. Never sits still and never quits barking. They actually give it Vallium when company is coming over.
  6. A few years back some of the pros were getting info from the guides too before their tournaments. Some would have someone fishing the lake for them and would give a percentage of their winnings for locating the fish. BASS stopped this practice a few years ago, but it did go on. At the time is was not illegal. They called it the dirty little secrect.
  7. Then you can hang all of them out the truck window in the wind while traveling to the lake to make them squeak correctly. I firmly believe that the squeak is what makes the bass hit them the way they do. I spin everyone and may go through the stores entire stock to see which ones will squeak the best.
  8. I fish the 100 sammy instead of the spook nearly exclusive. I like them that well.
  9. I never read the reviews. I go to the tackle store not to shop, I am going to buy certain items. I know before I walk in what I am going to purchase.
  10. If it is aluminum mount it outside the boat and away from the prop. Glass boat you can mount either way. do not tie the wires into the trolling motor wires as this will cause interferience when you kick on the TM.
  11. I am glad you had the chance to experience the fishing from a boat like that. It is amazing the freedom you feel when you know that you can pull up the TM and run to another spot. Congratulations on the fish also.
  12. The post about the rod length is right on. If you are shorter it is a tuff job unless you shorten the rod. I pitch with standard equipment and do not adjust the side brakes. The brakes on all my reels have the least amount of resistance set up as I use my thumb to feather the lure to the water. the thumb pressure is something everyone using a baitcaster should learn as soon as possible. A well educated thumb is a joy to use. that being said I can blow up a reel with the best of them.
  13. It took a while but I use the roll cast and it seems to work well for me.
  14. If you do mount it in the boat be sure to use two part epoxy and do not stir it. It will cause bubbles that will affect the operation. Just knead the two parts together and you will be fine. there is more to it so PM me if you need to know.
  15. Exactly right. I have exchanged several over the years at BPS if you have one nearby.
  16. Sorry, I'm pulling for Danica
  17. Why would he not just kick the boat around and fish it from the front? I have never seen this hapen. I would give him a slight nudge toward the water if it happened.
  18. If you are giving up on them you are costing yourself a lot of good bass.
  19. Mine was an Orange Heddon Sonic. It resembles a rattletrap but has a top fin on it and not as large as the 1/2 oz. I caught my first bass on it.
  20. We had two guys caught cheating in a Bass-N-Bucks tournament several years ago. One of the partners was cheating and the other did not know about it. He was not charged. Here is how it was done. Lake is off limits from Sunday night until Friday morning practice One team member lived close to the lake and the other lived several hours away. The member that lived at the lake was fishing during the off limits. When they would come in with a large sack the member that had been on the lake would tell his partner to go weigh the fish and take the polygraph if they won while he loaded the boat(The weighin and the ramp were at different locations)but you could not trailer. He would drop the partner off and motor around to the ramp and then tow the boat to the weighin. . they did and he did. the partner that took the polygraph passed it as he had no idea that his partner had fished all week. What did them in was a fellow that was not fishing the tournament happen to see the cheater on the water during the week. No one knows how long this went on. first place in these tournaments are new boats(Rangers this year) and they pay out well over 100,000.00 each tournament.
  21. Join a club in your area. Be active and test the waters fishing the club tournaments. There will usually be several members in the club that fish larger circuits and they will be happy to help you with your issues. You will need to do well in the club or you might want to get a little more experience before jumping into a big tournament. Or at least go as a non boater. Welcome to the forum.
  22. I bought a pack of gulp plastics once opened them up, could not stand the smell, and they all dried up. They went in the trash at the ramp. Only pack I ever bought.
  23. Thanks for sharing with us. That's what it's all about. She is a great looking daughter. What a smile.
