polarized sunglasses
I wear Bolle' when I am driving and Costas when I am fishing. I represent neither, but the Costas cannot be beat. As far as safety , you put a pair on and it is supprising what you can see. Shallow bars come into play when on the water that you cannot see without them.

Super Huge Worms !!!
I fish them very little. Seems I can do just as well or better with the 8 inchers and have proved it many times fishing with a partner that is throwing the larger worms.

Fishing stained water?
Same works day or night for me. If you doubt it try throwing a chrome blue back trap in the dark. It will suprise you.

Another what would you do thread.........
Never, ever, fish any spots that someone has taken you to during a tournament.. If you do you may lose a chance to fish with him again, and could get you kicked oput. I would never go back and fish a spot someone had shown me, unless it was known as a community hole. Find your own.

World Record bass dead
That sucks, was hoping they would catch her later on

Well, I'm off to Galveston.
If you get a chance and tire of fishing take the ferry on over to Crystal Beach. Amazing things happen there on the weekend. Guess that's why they call it the ZOO. Stop in at Sharkeys and enjoy the suds and the view. Have fun.

who is the gtreatest
I voted for KVD with reservations. Would have loved to see Clunn and KVD have come on the scene at the same time just to see how they would have compared head to head each in their prime. What really is shocking to me is that Hank Parker is even on this list.

tourny next weekend, need advice.
Good thoughts; however, depending on the number of days being fished and the amount of prize money and entry fees, a boater may well decide to move on and come back either later in the day or the next day to try to catch the fish. If he intends to return to that bed at a latter time I seriously doubt that the boater will allow the co-angler a shot at that bed. JMO. Personally if I had spent 2-3 days prefishing locating bed fish I would not allow the co-angler a shot at that fish unless it is late in the day, I am out of the running,and/ or the co-angler has a shot at drawing a check. That being said I have gone out of my way to help all of my co-anglers to catch as many fish as possible.

Humminbird Side Imaging - What's your take on these?
Well, I have my 997 mounted and ready to go. It was an easy instulation and took about an hour and a half. Have not had it in the water yet and due to this weekend being mother's day I won't have a chance until early next week. Anyone attempting to do this it is really pretty straight forward. Just follow the instructions as to the mounting of the transducer and the rest goes together just as you would a depthfinder. I did wire mine seperate from any other electronics and installed a seperate battery just for this unit. If I run into any issues after I get on the water I will post them for anyones future reference.

Great news!!
Congratulations. Just remember to practice safety anytime you are on the water and you will have many years of fun boating.

Here's a great Safe Boater test for everyone to take.
I missed 9 questions. Have never taken a boating course. Maybe I need to.

Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
It seems there is a lot more interest and concern reguarding fish kills across the country than most would believe. I for one am always concerned when it comes to a fish kill of any kind anywhere in the country. I spent three years and have well over five hundred pages of water reports and legislation that I compiled along with many others fighting a papermill here in Texas that was illegially depositing materials in Sam Rayburn. We were instrumental in getting the mill shut down several years ago. If others would take up the cause whenever an issue arises we can stop some of the issues reguarding our water quality and fish avisories that go unannounced or hidden from us.

Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
I will go along with that. It's just not right to acuse someone that you do not personally know, especially when the facts are being withheld until a later date. If everyone will give it a chance to work it's self through the process then maybe we all can make educated comments. JMO

dont understand what he was thinking
Usually there is one key spot in the bed that will turn them on. Find it and they usually will pick up your lure. notice I did not say they will bit it.You did the right thing by varying lures. sometimes when they are locked on they are a bit-h to catch. Anytime you are after a bedding bass it takes who knows what to make them bite. I have spent over an hour trying to tempt one, left, come back and catch it withing two or three flips. Other times I just cut my losses and move on to another hoping to get the bite.Try to pitch the lure in the bed and let it sit. Occasionally twitching it without moving it and aggitate the fish into biting. Good luck. You may go back tommorrow and catch her on the first cast. Oh, about bumping the stump. At times the female will bump her belly to loosen the eggs before moving in to spawn.

Fish Kill - Where are the pics...
Lane, I too know James at Falcon Lake Tackle. He's a good man and I have found that when he prints something it is reliable and well researched. Thanks for backing him up. The last thing anyone that knows him would be to call him a blogger. For those that do not know James purchased the tackle store after the death of Larry Bridgeman early last year. Larry spent the last 20 years fighting the issues surrounding the lake. He was instrumental in fighting the water level issues, illegil netting from the mexican side, the destruction of the white bass and crappie, the upkeep of the ramps, marking sites of dangerous underwater obstructions, and anything else for the betterment of the lake's fishery. Too many to list.
