  1. Guys, fish mortality on Falcon is a problem. I fished the Texas Bass Club tournament back in September and there were well over a hundred dead bass weighed in each day. It was disgusting(I DID NOT WEIGH ANY DEAD ONES) and I had a limit over 23lbs on day one. I was the only boat on our team not to weigh one though. I used lots of Please Release Me formula and two bags of ice in the live well each day, and left the pumps running all day. It helped. Not sure, but I bet a lot of the ones live released did not make it. It's sad, B.A.S.S., better get a handle on this problem or they may find their welcome wearing out real fast. I watched the show on the air the other afternoon and I never saw any pro check or add any substance to their live well. They could have easily shortened the day or fished a staggered weighen, or done something to help this. Of course they just wanted the most bang for the televised buck . Myself, I have wished that they had just stayed away in the first place. Getting way to much print.
  2. Welcome aboard. You need a back seat in a boat. If you want to drive to rayburn just PM me and you have it.
  3. Fished a tournament last Saturday. Early caught them pitching a watermelon/red baby brushhog and a senko in the bushes. The water around Caney Creek is 3-4 ft in the bushes. Later in the day moved out into the creeks and culled out a small limit on crankbaits and worms( black/blue, watermelon/red). My better fish were out in the creeks. Caught several on a black/blue jig with same color Gene Larue crawworm also. Water is off color up the Angelina and the Attoyac. Still fish on the beds. They did show a preference for chasing bait after about 11:00 am
  4. Sorry bro. Been there and done that. I held my pointer Casey in my arms while they administered the dosage. She was fine one day and sick the next. Spent 1700.00 plus in four days trying to save her. Hardest thing except burying a two year old grandbaby that I have ever done.
  5. I guess if I was shallow I would want it in my face to keep the shadows down, but I am usually fishing deeper water and I would not think it would really matter.
  6. Matt, I have never had any sounds on my computer. Jack
  7. Welcome
  8. You need to contact your local Parks and Wildlife office to let them know what is going on.
  9. Not sure about your 50hp but the going price in Houston on a V-6 Mercury is $600.00 a hole.
  10. Pretty sure I know what this is about and I totally agree.
  11. It's nothing but respect for another's private property. Please ask before giving all of us another black eye.
  12. Yes, Yes,Yes, it's called intuition and comes from time on the water.
  13. Welcome. Get a map. Study it, find the water that fishes to your strengths and get after it.
  14. Everything is supposed to be big in Texas...But, not that big.
  15. Do to your age I will chalk it up to inexperience. I highly recommend that you think otherwise.
  16. I have a few that I only fish during tournaments. I have a limited few that I will take there. Usually they don't own a boat or if they do they do not have the GPS cordinates to position themselves correctly if they ever go back.
  17. The most important item to address is taking it out of the automatic mode, turn the fish ID off, spend some time to set it to your preferences and it will do the job for you.
  18. Read and study the manuel and please take the unit off automatic. Set it up the way you like and enjoy.
  19. I clean my live wells with dawn soap occasionally, rinse well and add Please Release Me and ice during the day as needed. Hot summer days I leave the areators on all day. Don't remember the last time I lost a fish unless he happened to be hooked deep.
  20. Length and horsepower minimums are for safety. You cannot expect a coangler paying his way in and not being allowed the opportunity to fish out of a competitive boat. Each boat must have raised decks front and rear. Have a live well that will sustain a live limit of fish from each competitor. Live wells must be seperated. That's just a few reasons.
  21. I have used both and they both do a good job.
  22. Start with a club and work your way up. Some of the best you will ever fish against are at the local level.
