  1. I consider structure being the lay of the land and all the rest as cover.

Thanks LBH, Ditto to the rest of your post
  3. NCAA football, Snow skiing, reading, Bama my bird dog(Check my signature) no wonder why his name is what it is.
  4. I get it, even though I am not guilty of it. LBH the last word is the key. FYI, I am in Texas
  5. I feel for everyone up north. It rained and cooled off here in Houston today. Think our high was 82.
  6. Nice fish. Try this. If the water is in the low to mid fifties tie on a 3/4 or 1 0z, rattletrap and a 7.1 ratio reel. Put the trolloing motor on high and crank it as fast as you can. You will double the size of your PB shortly.
  7. Try pushing the hook all of the way thru and skin hooking it just under the skin of the senko. It will help you penetrate a little better.
  8. Everything that spawned a hatch last spring their offspring have had nine months to grow. I can't see downsizing when most bait are at their largest size of the year. I won't do it unless my partner is killing me with the small stuff.
  9. It may be me but I seem to feel everything a lot better with the tungsten. I know it is expensive but I will pay the bucks everytime to get the right feel.
  10. I consider 10+ here in Texas
  11. Slow down but I would not downsize at all. You are going to have to hit them on the head to get bit. They will have a small strike zone. throw a larger worm or lizard, and slow it way down. The longer you leave it in their face the better. Spray your plastics and crankbaits with an attractant and if you have a choice try to fish a day later.
  12. Start with a lure that will cover a lot of water. Crankbaits, spinnerbaits, etc. When you get bit slow down and pick the area apart with jigs and plastics such as slugos, crawworms, texas rig assorted worms, etc. Fish the points in the stump fields and any depressions you run across and any drops no matter how slight. If that fails I would move to deeper water with a c-rig or deeper diving crank or jig. If it is bright cloudless stay tight to cover unless they show a willingness to chase bait. Then rip them with a trap.
  13. Welcome. If you decide to come to the Texas area there are really to many to list. A few would be Fork, Rayburn, Toledo Bend, O H Ivie, Choke Canyon, Amistaid, Falcon, Texoma, are just a few.
  14. You will be fine as long as you use some common sense. Trailer close and if it does get bad, park it and spend some time with anyone of us that you can find. there will always be an open seat available in a larger boat.
  15. When you doing anything with Hilton?
  16. I was on a private lesson three years ago year at Sugar mountain in North Carolina and a snowboarder came out of nowhere and broke my right hip. Have the three pins to show for it. Stupid me I still love it and keep on doing it. Never skied until I was 42 and now next to bass fishing it is the best. Even though I live in Houston we get to ski about 3-4 times a year. Just enough to make me dangerous.
  17. Catt, I guess it hurts LSU's strength of scheldule since they just eased by Alabama. If Auburn beats them by 40(that's possible), it may drag yall out of the number one spot.
  18. NFL: Cowboys, (Texans They suck) NBA: Who Cares THIS LEAGUE ALL SUCKS NCAA: BAMA Yeah they suck Soccer: Never watched it. Guess it probably sucks. Who can get exitied about 1-0,1-1 games MLB: AsTROS Yeah they suck too NHL: Wish we had a team. It would probably suck too College Basketball: Bama, don't know if they suck or not yet NCAA D-11: SFA 0-11, They really suck It's been a bad year other than I have won five bass tournaments. I guess that's what really counts anyway.
  19. Al least I was fishing a bass tournament and winning money on Saturday(secound place). That's more than you can say about them. I could not believe it when I heard the score.

  22. Remember lures are just tools to help you. Use the tool that best allows you to cover the type of water and structure you are fishing. I never have a favorite, however I do have strengths and I try to find the type of water and cover that gives me an advantage or the confidence to do the job.
  23. Keep your eye on the weather, carry extra clothes, let someone know when you should return and where you are going, carry matches or lighter in a waterproff pouch just in case you have to spend the night, know how to gather dry material that will light in wet weather, extra oil for the boat, an extra battery, and finally take along a little common sense. There will always be another day. Learn to cut your losses and live to fish another day.
  24. I was at the Alabama/LSU game several weeks ago, on the 40 yard line and talking to the guy next to me about fishing the Coosa river(Weiss, Logan Martin, Lay, Mitchell, etc.) while Palmer was fumbling the d**n football to give the game away. Now that's hardcore.
