Catt, I know what's going on. I just figured I need some back up. Lot of people might think we were streching it some. You're right though, it usually takes 25-31 to win these things. Also, a lot of them won't believe that the larger tournaments average 250 boats or more almost every weekend on one lake or the other. Bass Champs is on Rayburn for their East/South championship starting in the morning and have advertised over 500 boats. It is on the FLW web newsletter today. Probably a good weekend to stay away. I thought about going to Toledo this weekrnd to fish Carrice Creek and Palo Gaucho, but I am having the steriod injections in my neck Fri. morn. so i am taking the weekend off. Running to Conroe early in the morn to catch about 5 hrs. of it.

I consider a smalie in Texas at 5.00 to be a very nice fish. I sure did not catch mine in Texas. It cam from Fort Loudin-Tellico in Tennessee. years ago.

I prefer the Mijnn Kota and I have no idea if the mounting holes of any of the new ones are the same. Actually the bases are a lot larger than they were years ago so it will probably just cover up any existing holes you now have. Worked on mine when I made a change.

If done right it may be easy for the ones allready doing it but I'm not buying that it is easy. Certainly was not for me. The first one I built I did not know you needed to correctly locate the spine. The wrapping left a lot to be desired also. Figured I would just pay the money.

Catt, do you think those weights can be duplicated now on Toledo? There was a 30.90 weighted in on Rayburn in the Bass-n-Bucks championship several weeks ago. They ended up with over 49.00 for two days. They came from a ways back with that big stringer on day two. Their big bass was only 9.90 in that big sack.

BPS has never failed to satisfy me with any return. I carried back a Goretex rain suit that I had six months that I thought had faded a little to quick. the lady at the counter would not replace and I asked her for a manager. I had no receipt, he came up looked at it a minute and told me to go back there and pickout what I wanted and bring it on up. No charge. thank you BPS.

I use a rubber net, please release me in the livewell, ice the fish in the hot weather. My boat has timers, areators, and constant refill. I think I lost one fish all summer(throat hooked). I run the areators constantly in hot weather and use from 2-3 10lb. bags of ice in the livewell in the summer tournaments. i have been quilty of lifting them in on the carpet many, many times and have yet to see one die from it. I check them every hour and if need be I up the ice or additive. A 10lb. bag of ice usually will last 2-3 hrs. and it will not hurt the fish. i never fill the livewell until I catch the first fish.

I think I can come up with some GPS cordinates that will help you if you are going to Falcon. Falcon Lake Tackle quit selling the permits along with a lot of other things. Seems they owner got mad at some people before he died and tried to make a point. As of last week in Sept. they were not selling the mexican permits.

Lake, River, Pattern. map study before each outing. I have some milk run places on several lakes but I do not depend on them and may never run them unless I need to fall back on them. It changes up so much I am not comfortable hole fishing. I prefer to be on the move until I have either figured it out or checked out the local thong and beach parties. they are the easiest to pattern anyway.

Jig, Big bladed spinnerbait, big worms, black bussbait, and for some reason a chrome black or blue back rattletrap. I discovered the trap on Lake Texoma several years ago fishing behind several others and ripped them up river. Have tried it many times in muddy water and it has saved my bacon more than once.

If you really want to quit fishing buy yourself a Tackle store or a marina.

I caught a 10.4 on Lake Falcon Sept 26 the last practice day for the TABC state championship on a Storm swim bait. I am always a day off.

I would like to know what everyone's idea of a lunker bass is. Largemouth, Smallmouth, Alabama/California Spotted bass.I know it will be different in each area so give your location with your weights.. I am in Texas and here are my thoughts: Largemouth 8.00 up, Smallmouth 5.00 up Spotted bass 5.00 up. Let me know how far off base I am.
