Big Bass Splash on Toledo Bend
I am fishing it. hopefully Catt and Pat will allow me a place to stay. If not maybe Dan(txfisherman) will let me stay at his place over there. If not I will stay at another buddy's place over on Rayburn. It's good to have friends.

Big bass Tourney Strategy?
Yes I was there. fished Friday and Saturday only due to family commitments. caught 28 friday with the largest being about three pounds. Saturday only caught 22. Had a large fish on Saturday at 10:20am on a dang trap. It bit, came right up and spit the bit. I was left there just staring at the water. Wanted to just throw up. I was fishing a large shelf 7-8' deep that had a three ft. drop off out 50 yards from the bank. The fish was right on the edge of the shelf right where he should have been.

Big bass Tourney Strategy?
Never target dinks. If all your catching is dinks make a move. It doesn't have to be far. Maybe out to a little deeper water around the next drop. At times though i will totally change a location. If i move into an area and it just does not feel right I am gone. No activity meens no fish. A move to another area with a different type of grass and bottom contours is usually all you need to do.

I can help you. If you have the manuel though the best way is get on the water and begin to play with it. Send me a pm and we can get together and I will give you some help. Are the units networked together?

"Gambler" Tournaments
I just got home from Rayburn for a tournament last night. Over 4,000 entries, and that was not the only tournament on the lake. I agree, there are too many, but it is public water. FYI, the fish are still biting at Rayburn. A 9.51 was weighed in this morning. Guess a few have figured out how to catch them. We had twenty to thirty boats and more within a hundred yards of us most of the day Friday and saturday and we still managed to catch over 25 a day. Do your homework and you will be fine. If everyone was up shallow just move out to 12-15' of water and you will have unpressured fish. That is exactly what we did and the fish were eager to bite. Not all fish are up shallow at once you know. Clear the clouds in your head and go make it happen. Good luck. FYI, a 10.60 and a 10.27 were weighed in today. They are in the last hour of weighin. 2:00pm is the cut off today.

Big bass Tourney Strategy?
Yep, it's known for big fish. I have several over 8 in the immediate area, but it's always a timing thing. You just never know when they will make a move up and put on the feed bag. All big bass tournaments are just the luck of the draw. Luck in getting bit, landing the fish, and then sitting at the check station trying to decide which hour you will weigh the fish. To answer your question, No I ain't sitting on a spot hour after hour waiting on a fish. Just ain't my style. I need to be on the move looking. If I get a good bite I will settle down and fish the area well. Otherwise I'm off to greener pastures. No guarantee that fish would have even looked at the lure I was throwing.

How is your season this year going?
Going well. The wife gave me free rein to fish as much as I wanted. Have won a few tournaments and finished up it the top five in another. No really large fish yet, but managing to put some good stringers together. That being said I really sucked this weekend at the Big Bass splash on Rayburn. Only had one good money fish on and it came up and showed it's self to me right before it spit the bit. Had another that I felt good about but never got a look at it. Wraped me up around something and sawed it's self off. that's fishing though.

Big bass Tourney Strategy?
You don't change a thing. We started on a point Saturday morning and when we were done another boat hit it. A short time later an angler approached it and caught a bass over 8. It's just the luck of the draw. Dan(txfisherman) was 40' from him and had just left the point.

New World record Caught Friday from Rayburn/Not a Bass
An angler caught and weighed on certified scales. 14# test , fishing a blueberry trick worm in 4' of water an angler caught an alligator Gar weighing: 197 lbs. I have gotten this story second hand, but word is todd driscol found certified scales that would accurately weigh this monster. I'm sure when he returns he will post all the peticulars. Word I got said it took well over an hour to land the fish. It is also supposed to be in excess of 8'. If any of my facts are inncorrect please excuse me as everything I got was in broken pieces and word of mouth. It will be submitted for a line class record according to the information I received. how often do you lose baits
Seldom, use a plug knocker with the chains on it. you can retrieve most if you take the time to try.

Electric only bass turney boat pics
I bet a little prop work would do wonders for the top end. Maybe 2-3 mph increase with the right work. Just wondering if anyone is tweaking on those things yet.

McDonalds BB Splash at Sam Rayburn
Leaving out about 3:00 today. tournament starts in the morning. I will try to give a daily report on the weights each evening when I get to the lake house. If you are fishing watch out for the beginners and be safe. Always a few that get into problems so stop and help if you think they could be in trouble. Jack

fishing a local tourney in johnboat
Check the rules. Will probably need to be aerated and have a divider to keep your partner's fish seperate from your own. I bet it states you can not comingle fish even if they are properly marked.
