  1. Well it finally happened. Johnson Outdoors(Humminbird) filed suit against Navico (Lowrance) for patent infringement today in federal court. Louis Chemi the COO of Navico said that the structure scan will still be sold. Going to be fun to watch this unfold. Jack
  2. Just like skipping a stone. Side arm cast with lots of velocity. I back the brakes off and get after it. Make sure you are comfortable thumbing a spool or bring lots of line. It took some work, but surprising, how quickly you get the feel, and how far you can sling it back under a dock or overhang. You might want to try a jig and trailer with a smaller trailer that is not loaded up with appendenges. They catch more water and this did cause me problems at first. When I went to a plain old twin tailed grub behind the jig it helped me figure it out.
  3. I promised my wife just yesterday I was going to lean down. What did I do? Bought the two 7:1.1 reels cart7t posted up this morning. Just could not pass it up. LOL. Jack
  4. Ann's Tackle in Jasper Texas. She will take orders over the phone and ship. That's where I get mine. Jack
  5. Saw this elsewhere and decided to throw it out here and see what kind of response I got. I have plastics, jigs, crankbaits, and spinnerbaits in every size and color combination. Yet when I go to the lake I find myself tying on the same lures. When you go do you take it all with you? I have the fear of being at the lake and the combination that is hot happens to be at home in the garage. I probably could get additional bow lift if I would just clean house. Jack
  6. I bought one for my hand controlled TM. I took it off after one trip. I preferred the Big Foot model I had on it instead. Not a rant against it though. It just did not work as well as the one I had IMO. Jack
  7. You can, but it will not improve the top end porformance. In fact it can hurt it.
  8. Well, you've got the money, now don't blow it. Get the S.I. unit and be done with it. Good luck, Jack
  9. I don't know that I am. The deal with the guy that wraped my boat was to teach me how to do it. After this year I am going to remove it, have him print the new wrap, and then install it myself. I am confident I can do it. Just want to prove it to myself. It will be done during the winter next year. I actually installed(With his instruction) the top section on the driver's side of the current wrap.
  10. From the pictures I don't think that's a 5,000.00 boat. Very rough. Lots better out there. Keep looking.
  11. Insurance agent.
  12. Get the larger boat(19') Do not under power it. Minimum 150 H.P. No 115H.P. or 135 H.P. motors will do. If you decide to go with a larger boat(20') Nothing less than 200H.P. The boat will perform to it's high end range and if you decide to sell it it will be easier to sell. Check the transom, floor, and stringers Have a certified mechanic check the motor. Best money you will spend. Put the boat in the water and fish it. Don't just drop it for a few minutes and put it back on the trailer. Power up all electrical components. Go over the trailer from end to end. Make sure the titles are current and available. If the transom is weak, stay away from it. It's a minimum of $4,000.00 to repair. Compression should be within 10% on all cylinders. Good luck, Jack
  13. ;D ;D It's the ears...Nothing wrong with being tied to a chain link fence 25 ft above a freeway. They do that here in Houston a lot. Only they are on the opposite side.
  14. Very nice job. I see you had lots of lids to cover too. That's a job pulling them off and having to go one on one with all of them. I got sick of it real quick.
  15. Large big bladed, bright colored or black spinnerbaits Jigs with rattles Crankbaits with a wide wobble and bright colors. The more water you can move the better. If you can go down lake or stay out on the main lake river ledges and points where the water might not be so muddy. Hunt for the clearest water you can find. If the whole lake or river system is off color the upper end and the back of the creeks will be the first to clear. If the system has any grass hunt for it as it tends to filter and clear around it also. Jack
  16. To be honest with you I wish I had left a lot of the design out of mine. It will not be as busy next year when I change it.
  17. Mike I forgot about those pics. Don't even have the new seats in these pics.
  18. I held off posting this to help keep Linda's personal life as private as possible. It has been reported elsewhere so here goes. Linda was hospitalized Monday night due to chest pains. She reportedly spent the night resting well. All test came back negative. She was released the next day to her home. It was reported that many employees did contact her regarding her health situation while there; however, the latest report I read stated no one in upper management made any attempt to check on her. Again, that is what has been reported. If in error I do apologize to the management of Navico. Jack
  19. My 12.4 was also caught in February.
  20. I'll have to look for it. It's been up on the site before, but I have changed computers and will have to go look for it.
  21. Since july 09 I have spent this on my 1988 Skeeter: Rebuild Mercury 150 5,000.00 Wrap 1,500.00 Trailer tires/wheels 650.00 Seats 485.00 I'm not keeping track of all the smaller items(It would scare me). Jack
  22. Yep, and it made it to the hatchery alive. Gonna live to fight another day.
  23. Not my email. I heard the company was inundated with calls and emails
