The 100 dollar range baitcasting reel market is quite competitive. you can definately get a quality reel that will last you a long time in that range. I would recommend a Revo S myself....

i use a cabelas advanced angler backpack... its real convenient if your moving around a lot and don't own a boat and have more than 1 rod to carry

i have less backlashes with braid as well. not only that they are much much easier to pick out. i don't back it with mono and it works fine
