  1. I have the XPS slim dog and I love it.It is a great bait and most of the paint is knocked from it. Prob not the same one your looking at but figured I'd mention.
  2. You think I don't realize things like lures that don't work for me may work for you? Thats part of fishing.Your preaching to the choir. I beg your utmost forgiveness for saying it the wrong way. Sheesh : When certain colors or baits don't work for me or my style or my waters they go into the sh** pile and thats what I consider them to be. One mans POS is another mans treasure I guess and it cracks me up how threads get resurrected just to nitpick at someone. :
  3. DT FLAT 3 and standard DT 4.
  4. Soo you guys that like BPS service must like the idea of paying a shipping rate based on dollar amount? I don't get it. :-? Order a few ricos or lucky craft baits, something expensive, and then see if you are happy with the price to send a 4 oz package. They gotta pay for all that hyped up advertising somehow.
  5. So those little hook hangers on lures such as jitterbugs, devils horse, and original spook are better than or the same as using split rings?!!? : I better let all the crankbait manufacturers know they are doing it wrong. The hook only moves one way with those things and has no rotation whatsoever. Very easy for a fish to gain leverage plus it also rips the holes in their mouth open wider. Better yet, what I do is add a second split ring to the already existing ones on my topwaters. This allows a full rotation of the trebles and just plain sticks the fish. I am not the only one.A lot of pros do that as well, and I also learned that trick from somebody on this forum a while back. Loop knots have no bearing on what the hooks are doing either.
  6. Eyeball it closely from back to front and vise versa and make sure that the whole arm is diectly in line with the hook. If the "L" part where you tie your line is bent out then use your hand to squeeze it back together so that the blades run closer to the body. If you using a plastic trailer make sure it straight and not kinked.Make sure your skirt isn't bunched up on one side.
  7. This comes as no surprise.
  8. You will fricken love it It will however leave a gaping hole in your wallet
  9. Give me spiderwire invisibraid any day. Fireline is flat, the spiderwire is very round, very castable, and doesn't dig into itself. My opinion is based on the fact that I am using spinning reels though
  10. It has great action. As far as the sebile being better that is a matter of opinion pertaining to what you want a bait to do. The sebile is a real tight swim and seems better suited for clear water. The SS is a lot wider more s shaped swim. I am not a big fan of the slow sink.I would rather have a floater. This bait works well with fast retrieves when burned on the top to get a blurping sound going on. I haven't done anything with it yet trying to slow roll it and it doesn't stay down anyway. All in all I like the bait a lot.Has a great profile. It catches dinks like crazy too. On numerous occasions me and one of my friends were burning them around schooling dinks and have had 8-9 inch fish try to choke it.So it does work. Biggest negative is that the joints on some of them stick. You have to take an exacto knife and clean the joints out and even then you aren't guaranteed to have a perfect action.Out of the 5 or so we have used every one of them seems to be just a little different and 2 of them would not swim at all until we scraped all the paint out the the joints. It seems a little expensive to me to not be perfect out of the box
  11. You beat me to it.Been trying to muster the funds for one for a while now. Good luck with it! Please post any results.
  12. Not a big fan of it at all. In fact I will be putting one on the flea market in a few days as soon as I get a set of hooks. I am out of no 2's. Bait is brand new but the hook barbs got a little rust from sitting in my box. Just figured I'd throw that out there for anyone looking.
  13. He got me into making my plastic creations... and I love it. The scent he makes is killer too. Not knocking my favorite megastrike or lunker sauce, but what happens when you start mixing things or even adding a few ingredients of your own? Main question is: Does anyone else do this?
  14. Unless you are already loaded down with worms I would suggest getting some 7 inch annacondas. Second would be space monkey. It is a very versitile bait and can be rigged any way you want with any amount of weight, and retrieve methods run the gamut. Color would depend on you water clarity,of course
  15. Nice! I like that a lot. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Man every time i fish with my bro he keeps his limit of dinks to eat. Most of those tiny fish spit out some pretty big blue gills after a while! Trust me, they eat them on a regular basis! The reason they probably don't eat them in the tanks is because they are spoiled spoon fed bass like those at BPS or Cabela's! Yes bluegills and such are way to big to be eaten by bass. I am sure they would rather burn all their energy chasing 1-3 inch minnows all day to stay in shape. :
  17. Hey,I remember recently reading in the rules somewhere that you couldn't do that.
  18. Thats funny.I was just going to post this same exact thing. I am just curious thats all. I recently got into a little discussion with someone who said that the joint is the strongest part on his rod. Why do they make $350.00 3 piece rods for musky fishing if they are weak?? Is this just a matter of personal preference? (Btw cheesehead, you might want to post this in the proper section next time)
  19. Or even my fishing partner. : ;D
  20. If you were from around here I'd say they were gar. : Do what Dw said ,and also keep a slow sinking bait like a senko, trickworm, fluke,or t-rig worm handy to follow up with. They were probably dink bass smacking out of aggression and it does happen with this type of fishing.
  21. It is also wise to wear sunglasses while reading the above post. 8-) Welcome to the board by the way.
  22. Heres what I use: Take a milk jug cut the top off leaving the handle still intact on the side. Then cut an entry hole in the side. It is discreet and covers you up and also courteous to your partner.
  23. I think everyone took all the cheese jokes already. :-/
  24. Whatever the proper name for kissimmee grass is that is my favorite. Lily pads any day too. There are so many lure/presentation options available for pads and you can almost always find fish there under a wide array of conditions. I hate milfoil to death unless it is early spring up north and the spinnerbaits are flying.
