Tru Tungsten Mad Maxx (another one, I know)
Play with it a little more and let us know how you do. We all know that sometimes you just can't peg them on the frog. Missed strikes happen all the time.

I usually try to be gone by 7AM before she wakes up. 8-)

Zoom Super Fluke
Zoom recommends 6/0 or larger. The bait rigs and works really well on the 7/0 gamakatsu EWG monster hook. You need at least a 7 ft MH rod for this as well. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_97828____SearchResults?ordProd=Y&CMID=BOTTOM_selectitems#itemDetail

Hmmm.Slots on the sides? Nice 1! I hate having my frog poked full of holes from the hook points. Sounds good.

0-1ft crankbait, ever use?
Right. I was just re-enforcing what Raul said about time and place. Some lakes they will knock the snot out of a certain bait or color and other lakes they won't. Point is if you spend money on a bait you got to play with it a little to find out the where and when it works best. I wasn't trying to get on you.I would rather try to help you out anyway I can. It just drives me nuts how some people(namely my fishing partner) will buy all these "cool" lures then toss it 3-5 times and call it junk just because 5lbers aren't jumping in the boat after it : I guess thats what its like to have plenty of "disposable income" .

isolated ponds
No signs=fair game. I'll fish any puddle I can cast into. ;D The way I see it is if it isn't posted then the worst that can happen is you get kicked out. How can you be arrested for trespassing if your not hopping a fence or disobeying a sign? You may be able to call your county appraisers office to figure out who owns the property. Also can take pondhunters advice.

0-1ft crankbait, ever use?
Refer back to the "place" part of that quote. Can you go to any lake or especially a strange body of water and catch like crazy on that lure? I think not.

Anyone know where I can get a "Secret lure?"
Yep, and just cuz I am using what your using doesn't mean I will catch fish either. The way your working it,speed, depth, location, casting angle, line size, and rod type may or may not play a part. That said I don't mind sharing anything. I have confidence in what I am doing.Do you?

Flipping cuts
yeah i've cut my hands pulling snags with braid and even setting the hook (i put my index finger under the level wind), but never flipping. when i flip i hold my rod in my right hand and i hold the bait by the hook shank in my left hand. i don't hold the line above the lure in my left hand because that seems like i'm just asking to get hooked... Flipping is done in super close quarters and or shallow water. You are using your hand to pull the line out of the water near the reel while raising your rod then placing the lure back into another hole then letting go of the line.Your not using your reel or adjusting the length of line or actually casting the bait.It is faster and more efficient to "pick" apart an area directly next to the boat. When you use your hand to pull the line out of the water you can get hung up a little in pads and brush and it can cut your fingers.Thats flipping, correct me if I am wrong. I know everbody has their own ideas on some things. Get it straight Dave. I get cuts from tying too much all the time : Try sticking you hand in a bag of Yum worms afterwards

Zoom Super Fluke
Have any success with the big ol' mag fluke yet round here in FL?

Zoom Super Fluke
Raul is right on the money. I have found that too much weight pretty much kills the action though. In other words it isn't the go to bait on a winday day.1/32 to 1/16 is usually good enough. Btw it is also one of the best carolina and splitshot rig baits there is.

yellow magic poppers
Dont believe everything you hear. Rico's rule! Yep ,Ricos do rule. At least they better for the price I pay for them, but I don't mind. 8-)

H2O Swimbaits ?
Play nice you guys Too bad I don't have Academy anywhere around here.Never even heard of it until I joined this board. Those baits look good along with a few other that people have posted here.

Anyone have any tricks for putting soft plastics on the weighted hooks?
Rigging the baits the way you described is the only solution other than using hooks with screws or pins. Should you switch? Thats on you and how much trouble you want to go through.Personally I don't think it is that bad to retie unless your on a hot bite, then it sucks.

Dead beat partner!!!!!!!!
I sorta agree and sort of not. I don't mind too much taking people that have no clue or those who are always in the trees, backlashing, can't rig a bait, use there rods/reel correctly. etc... I enjoy watching others catch fish and seeing them grow with experience. The part that bothers me is when they don't want to learn anything or they take your advice and let it go in one ear and out the other. If your playing fishing guide and they figure they don't need to learn because your doing all the work anyways driving the boat, putting them on spots, telling them what baits to use, where to cast, how to work the baits, explaining why the fish are here or there, and dealling with all the cluster f***s etc.. It gets old real quick. As long as someone at least makes an effort then I don't mind all the extra problems.

"lunker lake".........and the 9.4lb'er, good times!!
Good one dude!

How do you keep bass from wriggling around after you caught it.
I was gonna say billy club but I think you got me beat. ;D

Unusual places you'd love to fish
Just about 80% of all the water you see around Florida is "off limits" except the super high pressure public lakes. : The phosphate pits around here.....Good god, I'll just stop there :-/

lake fork worm
Fish like any other ribbon tail style worm.Texas or carolina rigged. Reeling it in would be the last choice of retrieves methods but that is not saying that you cannot catch fish that way. Do you have experience with worm fishing? If not then my best suggestion would be to explore some of the articles here on worm fishing and using soft plastics in general. There are a lot of variables to consider such as the weight of the sinker used to determine fall rate retrieve speed, hopping, crawling, twitching, and everything in between. It isn't that complicated though, but bass can be picky and these kinds worms plain out catch fish.

10" anaconda color?
That of course is going to depend on what kind of water your throwing in. I like junebug but I would have to say that green pumkin would be the best all around color. Can be used in all kinds of clarity and a little chartreuse on the tail never hurt anyone.
