A sad end for a beautiful bass.......
Been there done that a few times. It can happen with trebles. It goes deep in the throat and pokes through the gills and then it is darn right impossible to remove from gills without serious injury.Throat is one thing, gills they're done for. This is the biggest reason that I hate and don't use sure set trebles either. They can cause catostrophic damage. > Glad you enjoyed the meal at least.Any bass I ever ate that was over 2.5 lbs tasted like mud and worms. :-/ Nice catch though, shat happens.

Suspending Cranks?
x2 And the jointed shad rap just flat out catches fish in a wide variety of conditions.A dynamite crank which also works extremely well worked like a jerkbait.

Favorite Dropshot Plastics?
Berkley realistix 4 inch power minnow.Getting really hard to find them now though but standard zoom fluke works pretty well too. Other than that I like zoom trickworms and finesse worms rigged wacky.

Working the grass
I do the same when working root clusters in pads from time to time. Thanks for the post/reminder Catt. When I think about it I get too caught up working my rigs the same way whether it be brush, grass,or humps. It's called concentration and awareness.A little goes a long way.

Don Meissner Hydra Lure
I figured if I got these and one of the instant fisherman foldup rods the bass wouldn't stand a chance

Your Pics of 10+ pounders
;D true lol, but the one in my avatar was 10.5 lbs. I would have loved to get a better photo of it but ,oh well.Cell phones and certain operators of them can only be good to certain extent.

bigfoot frog
Still frog fishing takes a little practice and Brokejeu pretty much summed it up. Misses will happen with these lures no matter the brand. There are just a few things you can do to increase your odds, and as always practice makes perfect. You begin to get a sense of how and when to yank em.For example if the fish just swirls under it and gently sucks it under smack them that very second. It is the sudden blowups that are hard to get through.

The monkey made me do it, (thats my story and im stickn' to it..)
You just stated my point perfectly ;D Some of my posts are geared specifically towards certain individuals that I know personally who log on from time to time in the hopes that maybe they will read it.

bigfoot frog
It does in a way since the best way to not lose fish on that POS lure is to not use it all. There are far better options for these types of lures. If I buy a bait that is total junk and doesn't work at all or it doesn't have any action whatsoever then I feel cheated out of my money.I like to fish my baits and play with them, not throw them in the garbage. : Either way I appoligize for my sarcasm.

Go get her man. Great choices too. It cracks me up how some peeps think that swimbaits don't work in Florida. :

Please see the "explosive diarrea" in the everthing else section. No I don't think that a "courtesy flush" will help out. Get a clothes pin for your nose.

for you shakey head fans...
My buddy said the same thing when I showed it to him.I told him I was wrong when I thought bass engulfed their prey Trickworms or anything else may get ripped by a small dink from time to time too and I think that worm looks incredible.

crankbaits for dirty florida water
Welcome to the forum Jason! A few suggestions: -If talking about Florida specifically you may want to post in the Southeast section. -Change your avatar info to show your location. -What kinds of places you fish? Water clarity,depths,cover/structure? -You boating or shore fishing? I would be glad to help out as best I can with some more given info as cranks still have an important place in my box. I could throw out a few brands and styles I/we use but I'm sure you want more than that. Also read through some of the gazillion articles on here for fishing cranks.I am sure you might find some helpful info pertaining to your specific situation. 8-)

mattlure hard gill........color choice opinions....
My vote goes for tilapia. Not only is this a killer looking bait our lakes are also chock full of them. They are a very high protein food. Definately see the dilema here.I am in the same boat. The bluegill baits will have their time and place as will the crappie color during the spawn. I say you spin a wheel and buy it. 8-)

Reminiscing about SOUTH PARK
"CRIPPLE FIGHT!!!" = classic ;D Antichrist Christmas is one of the most @#$%ed up episodes ever. One of my favorite SP moments was when watching the movie in the theater several dozen "parents" escorted thier young children out one by one once the singing started. ;D Get a clue people, this isn't power puff girls or curious george. "Screw you guys,I'm going home"

mastered senko... whats next?
Soft plastic jerkbaits, fluke, sluggo, lunker city finesse fish. Senko can be worked that way too,but is more of a sinker. All of which can also be very effective on a carolina rig as well. 8-)

Gambler Cane Toads
I agree with your thinking too plasticman. Canes are a great toad indeed but I prefer the ribbit as my best frog. For a subtle approach, calm water,or a subsurface twitch, the sizmics rule.
