  1. So true my friend. They seem to have a mind of their own.Sometimes thats good though.
  2. No, I don't like tipping at jars. Those people already make what they make per hour.Jobs like waitressing for instance normally pay very low per hour and tips are the main breadwinner. I got a question though, and sorry for maybe getting off topic: What do do do when one of those reject pizza delivery guys says "Do you need change for that"? You hand them a 20.00 bill to pay for say a 15.99 order. If I am going to tip then I will tip.Don't put me under the friggan gun!You can just take yourself and get the@#$% off my property if you want to ask like that. That is one of the rudest things I have ever seen and I have even told them to just take the food back,I don't want it anymore, after a pizza hut driver said that to me after I handed him a 20 to pay for a 12.99 order and all he had to do was drive 2 blocks. : Just had to rant since the subject came up :-/
  3. perhaps if you checked one of the thousand saltwater forums......
  4. +1 Why do peeps get so bent out of shape over this? : :-? Not like your laying them on hot concrete and kicking them around. Back on subject, since we seemed to have gotten sidetracked, nice fish man, and also welcome to the board.
  5. That is one of the coolest looking little fish I've seen. That thing is a cow.
  6. Color is very important, just like some of the others mentioned. You will definitely find days when they absolutely will not under any circumstances even sniff certain colors.I just try to keep it more simple.Lights/brights,darks,chromes,and naturals.I don't worry too much if one bait has a dot, stripe,or flake of a certain color in it as long as it basically follows a certain hue. All the complicated unending variations are to catch fisherman IMO.
  7. Only thing I can say is it looks like a hell of a nice bait! Also just one more thing that I can add to the baitmonkey wish list which is always expanding but never ever shrinking.
  8. I use a whole lot of different baits and even jig head styles and weights for various purposes. The best all around producer for me though is a 3/32 Picasso shake down head(in between 1/16 and 1/8) with a plain ol zoom trickworm. If it is windy I like to step up to a 3/16 size. I don't use the finesse worms much since you can just keep clipping down the trickworm a little after a few fish.Colors can vary, but I fish a lot of dirty water so black, junebug, and green pumkin usually get the job done. I either try to shake in place with long pauses or drag a little then pop the bait sharply to cause reactions. If your around bottom vegetation then use a popping retrieve then swim a little. If you shake it too much I have found that it tends to bury nose down in the stuff too much.
  9. I vote 7 lbs. That fish is pretty long. Congrats man!
  10. x2 and their portions per cost ratio is wayyyy down. Not like it used to be but then again I guess they are all like that nowadays.I hardly ever stop there. If I am going to spend that kind of money I will get some real food.I still love their large roast beef smothered in horsey sauce and tabassco sauce though. Quote:"What happened to the good old days of getting a burger fries and a drink for less than 5 bucks lol" -Tell me about it.Me and the lady went to BK the other day and got 2 triple whopper combos with and extra BK joe and the grand total came up almost 18.00!!??
  11. Does running say a splitshot or rubbercore sinker a few feet up from it ruin the action??? The main reason I ask is beacuse I have a few crappie sized cranks but none of these tiny treats will run deep enough to get to schools of crappie. I also have a jointed shad rap 04 that I know catches crappie just can't ever get it deep enough unless they are near the banks spawning.
  12. That thing was a total turd. ;D One of the very few baits that I picked up casted about 3 times then tossed out. This is better than that at least.
  13. In case anybody misssed it here is another very cool vid I seen on there too.
  14. Used to do it with powerworms when I was younger living in Ohio.Cast worm onto pads or surface scum weightless and twitch a few times.I was amazed at how far one of those guys would leap to grab it.I always kind of thought that maybe the frog thought the worm was a large dragon fly or such. The frogs really seemed to like the taste of the powerbait and would hang on to it long enough for you yank them out of the water without actually hooking them. Then the real fun begins after you get one on the bank and you got to try to quickly get your hands on that slimy sucker.
  15. It is a good bait,it does the job but I can't see paying that much for something that doesn't have the action of a paca craw or Rage Tail.
  16. Thats funny right there. ;D I wonder what would happen if you zapped one with a tazer? :-?
  17. And You've used this bait in the larger size to be able to make a comparison? I got a hold of a few of the bigger size ones. Let me tell you this thing is like a ton of lead. It is fatter than the original spook and crazy heavy. I think just a bit oversized for the purpose. If they made it maybe an inch longer but half as thick it would be perfect. I haven't been able to try it in heavy slop yet.It seems to me that it will be the best purpose for it(the large one). This is a slop only bait.It moves a ton of water and is like a bulldozer coming through the water. You will need a heavy rod to cast it or walk it. I must say I was not impressed with the overall walking ability in open water, just like the other poster stated. I added a large worm rattle in the rear and it helped out a little. This bait is a little front heavy but it seems like the biggest problem is that the very large heavy wire hook acts like a keel thus keeping it from being able to glide like a regular walking bait. The actiong is lacking, though it won't matter as much when plowing through some good slop. I would really like to try the smaller one.I would really like to find something like that I can skip around under and through trees, under docks, under pontoons etc..which is one of my favorite ways to use frogs.
  18. Further north where I am located it is absolutley incredible today but I don't feel well enough to go out.Temp 68 this morning and wind 6-10 out of the NW and a sheet of high overcast. Best morn. I seen in months. This heat needs to be over like yesterday and we got more out it coming this weekend. No I am not working right now but believe me I agree I been stuck too many times working and drooling over the conditions especially during the highly coveted pre-frontal conditions cuz we all know what happens here after the high pressure and sun sets in afterwards.
  19. A senko wacky rigged under a slip style bobber can be very effective, though if this gentleman had it wrapped up or threaded on a small hook like a crawler I can see the humor in it
  20. I would have to respectfully disagree.Although I can see your point. 1. A fluke sinks and you have to constantly keep it moving. 2. A fluke is very light and will not push the water and cause the desired disturbance in vegetation, heavy cover, and mats.
  21. I just lol'd at that.Thats kinda funny right there. ;D
  22. Without using the bait yet I already had a feeling that was going to happen.Just look at a spook type bait and notice that the weight is in the tail end. My idea about this is to insert a magnum glass worm rattle into the rear and maybe seal it with a drop of super glue. Also could take a nail and put it in like the other guy said. I got a few other ideas for this bait too and will post as soon as I get my hands on them.
  23. Yeah I know. I don't fish the tourneys, but was told this by one of my partners so I am not sure of that clubs particular rules. I was able to witness this guy twice though. My partner mearly said "thats the one I was talking about" and I knew. ;D
  24. Get a haircut hippie! (as I'm looking at myself lol :) Good fish.Look forward to more reports
