Summer 08' Trip Need Suggestions
Make sure you know the laws of canada before crossing. They were talking about needing a passport to get into canada recently. I always used mine there so I didnt need the birth certificate and so on. You can also drink there so that would be a plus for ya. If you do the drinking portion do it safe, buy it and take it back to your place or knock down a few and chill before driving home.

Summer 08' Trip Need Suggestions
What is your skill level? If I were you I would find a lodge in Ontario Manitoba Canada. The fishing up there is amazing and the scenery is beautiful as well. There are many lodges in Ontario on the Riddeu chain that will rent you a boat which includes gas feed you etc. . The farther you go the bigger the pike get to it seems. I know people that go WAY north and catch some 40+ inch pike. The pike fight man i'm telling ya you get a 30+ incher on it is a good time. If you need any contact info or places feel free to PM me. I will send ya some places you can check out.

Migration Routes and Sanctuaries
I have been reading a ton since when I look outside I get blinded by all the white! I was wondering if you guys try to find the sanctuary, migration route, and shallow spots. I am reading Advanced Bass Fishing and it seems that the author really pushes the deep water structure and migration routes. If you do indeed find the sanctuary and migration routes do you fish both or one or the other? Do you pick out each potential area on the maps and then use your sonar to see if it will have structure and so on? The author also says that the fish for the most part wont hit. Would you try to get a reaction strike in these sanctuary spots. It is said in the book that the fish will pile on the contour lines and wait for a bit of time then eventualy move to the shallows. How long would you fish this migration route if you fish it at all?

Lure Selection
It seems that when I post it usually involves 5+ questions. This I am sorry for but my mind wonders and it all builds up. 1. Do any of you use the sweet beavers? If so do you just use them for flipping or do you rig them otherwise? 2. Do you use trailers on spinnerbaits? Do you use trailer hooks? If you do use trailer hooks and trailers do you hook the trailer hook into the trailer? 3. Do any of you use baby brush hogs? 4. With jigs how do you know what size to use other then dependent on depth? Do you use heavier jigs for reaction bites? Do you use smaller jigs when your dragging or hopping the bottom? Again sorry, I think I may have thousands of questions about fishing. I love picking peoples minds and especially on here to me you are some of the best anglers. Thanks!

Fishing Line Questions
I have two new reels sitting at home with empty spools. Would you buy line now if your not going to be using it until May? How often do you spool new line on your reels? <-- This question is for mono and flouro users. Are bulk spools worth it, doesnt the line have a memory from sitting on the spool so long. Do spools of line have shelf lives? Do you put line on my hand or use the machines?

Co-Angler Advice
That being said what is the best way to learn then? The way I was looking at being a Co-Angler was a good learning experience. I have been looking into clubs near me. For the most part they fish one lake, and I found one that fishes a great variety and many tournaments. Downside of this club is that they have a bad reputation. I heard from people that were in the club that they have *poor table manners* so to speak. So with all this out on the table where do I go from here? Do I join this club keep my mouth shut and eyes open and learn? Do I fish BFL's and take them as I go? Do I stray away from tournaments until I can have the boat I need and am in a better financial state?

Maybe we can persuade RedlineRobert to stray away from the japan bass lure market and just buy B.A.S.S. from ESPN.

Co-Angler Advice
I do have a boat, but it is only a 14ft aluminum 25 hp motor. Therefore I will be fishing as a non boater. This upcoming summer I am looking to fish about 20-30 tournaments as a non boater. I have read a few articles about chipping in money toward gas and so on. I am looking for information about being successful as a Co-Angler. This includes lure choices, fishing depths, angles, prefishing, and basically anything else you can think of. I know sometimes the boater will ask for suggestions if its not going well. What do you guys do when your boater is fishing where the chance of a bass being near has the same chance that a snowball has in he**. <--- I know this is going to be a learning experience, but I am talking about 90 degree clear blue skies fishing a rock bottom in 5 foot of water throwing into 8 ft of water which is same rock bottom or on shore.
