I'm still alive and skim the site but have been so busy lately I have not been posting. Anyone need someone that has been there and done that be assured they are here and will support and pray for you!
  2. Other than the pardon on Nixon, I liked Ford as President. It just bothered me to have it set a precedent that in fact all me are not equal in the eyes of the law in our system of government.
  3. I got mine and my wife love's her sweatshirts. Very good quality and cut full for fishing. First rate all the way.
  4. A local jigging spoon that is especially popular and effetive on the extremely clear waters of both Lakes Bull Shoals and Norfork for Bass, Walleye, and Stripped Bass is the Bink's jigging spoon especially the 'Many Shad' available in White Scale or Silver. It is the model in the center of the picture below. http://www.binksguideservice.com/binks%20spoon.htm The Bink's catches 3 fish for every 1 fish caught with a Hopkins on our two local reservoirs.

Welcome to the forum Cyrus. I guarantee you can learn more, better up to date fishing information and technique here on this site and this forum than any other single site on the Internet. Now that is my personal opinion but I bet there are many here that will at back that claim. I know I have.

  7. I order from both Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop. Cabela's has some items that BPS does not carry and the other way around also. Cabel's orders generally get to my house faster than BPS. ;D
  8. Back then my friends and I could take our .22s to school and leave them in the principles office because a bunch of us boys were going squirrel hunting after school. None of us would have ever thought of shooting other kids or teachers. I guess back then we were smart enough to realize that doing such a thing would be throwing away the rest of our lives so we just duked it out and left it at that.

Why Muddy your still a kid . Merry Christmas to all and let us all remember the reason this holiday was founded.
  10. There is a difference these days though because once upon a time the people of this nation would debate then vote. The loser of the vote put their differences aside and stood shoulder to shoulder with the winner of the vote especially in time of war and we the people pulled together. Today the ink cannot dry before the venom flows and our enemies have taken note of the change. Either we learn to put aside our differences and again stand together or we are going to fall separately. While we may disagree, I believe a civil discourse should be possible here without sarcasm coming into play.
  11. You have a better selection with the Stella and it is the reel by which all others are measured as compared with the Steez. The only Daiwa reel that has as many models is the Certate but does not have the history behind it like the Stella does. That said try them all before you buy.
  12. I fish very clear water but here White and Silver finsh work best. I like the Silver Buddy but I also like the Bass Pro Shops® XPS Lazer Blade in Nickel and Nickel/Blue
  13. There is a lot of great information on the web about jig fishing but if you can find someone who does it to go with it will speed up your learning a lot. If not and there is a local guide that specializes in jigging bass that is a great option to learn the fast way. Also there are many types of jigs and where I am the vertical jigging deep lakes can pay off year round. Good Luck and as Avid said it is addicting!
  14. If you want the ultimate deep crankbait reel this is the one. I just wish I had purchased the one I had a chance at last week for $189 (used). Dumb, dumb, dumb. The Shimano Calcutta TE 200GT
  15. I just gave four rods and five reels to my middle stepson, my two grand-daughters, and daughter-in-law. So I now have a few empty spaces in my revolving 15 place rod rack but then I have two rods on the wall also so I will plead enough for now.
  16. Welcome to the forum Little Luey. Reading the articles on the site is a good place to start. Also, you can do searches of the forum on about anything for more info. In addition, post a question when you feel the need there are a lot knowledgeable fishermen and ladies here.
  17. I have fished my Shimanos for 5 years + and my Daiwa, and Quantum Energy PTi-As are new this season. Only time will tell over the long run how each holds up. Like my new Daiwa Certate " you pays your money and you takes your chances." As with most new designs some will fall by the wayside and some will become the new standard by which others are judged.
  18. Alpster, cool pics 8-). How does she fish?
  19. An college education is needed these days. Good luck and study hard!
  20. I have the regular Alphas (Purple Wonder) and love it. The type F has two bearings in the handle but is not for use around brackish water. I plan to up-graded mine with a ZPI Carbon Handle with four bearings this coming year.

The GMAN is right. I fish a very clear deep water reservoir. Thanks GMAN, I should have added that.
  22. The most consistent color and size I am using right now in the cool deep clear water on Bull Shoals is the Jewel 5/8oz. football jig or the 3/4oz football jig in Peanut Butter and Jelly with a NetBait Paca Chunk in like color.
  23. paparock replied to Fishin49er's topic in Fishing Tackle
Where I am in very clear water Peanut Butter and Jelly if the most consistent color to use plus a trailer. My favorite is a 5/8 football Jewel jiig with a NetBait Paca Chunk.
  24. I'm still learning to use the normal ones. ;D I'll watch for reports on how they do though. :-?
  25. No problem. Very fast for me.
