  1. That is the smart thing to do..but a state owned reservoir is a little different situation. We also have private ponds where only the residents have water access and deals are made every day!! lol
  2. The Scituate Reservoir in Scituate, Rhode Island where I am from falls under the same type of restrictions. The owners of the reservoir (which in this case happens to be the city of Providence, R.I.) calls the shots...closed to the public. Nothing we can do. Probably the same in your situation. The thing about the Scituate reservoir is it is a PRISTINE body of water. Never been fished by ANYONE except those who sneek in. Never a boat on it motorized or otherwise except workers. And to boot, rumor has it that the Rhode Island State record largemouth (10 lb 6 oz) came from this body of water although the "recordee" says it came from another pond which adds to its mystique!!
  3. Have there been any "after reports" on this disaster????
  4. They sold out at BPS.com and other places......
  5. I watched the press conference after the Classic last night on Bassmaster.com and MANY of the questions asked here and on the blogs were answered by KVD. I feel it was much simpler than we all thought. I guess this area was reclaimed after the hurricanes via a diversion of the Mississippi river. It's full of cypress stumps and has a few grass areas around it. If they have the press conference with KVD on file watch it. He says the difference between him and the others in the area was that he was making multiple casts (4 was the lucky number) to stumps before he got thumped. He was also fishing much slower than the others. In a funny part of the conference he says that when Scott Rook came close enough to his boat he mouthed to him "Slow down!" Rook did..and started whacking em. He didn't tell Aaron though!!!! He also said that last year he felt so bad for Jeff Kriet that he pulled the reigns in a bit on the last day. Ow...that hurts!!! ;D
  6. I don't think this was close to the ramp or a release area. I watched the press conference after. It was an area reclaimed after the hurricanes via a diversion of the Mississippi river. 7. So I assume by now that this IS the longest thread on BassResource.com.....correct!!!!!!??????
  8. Hey all... Great classic huh??? Well, I got my flyer from BPS Foxboro, and checked out their website, and at first it appears that KVD will be appearing with Woo Daves and his son at the Bassmaster University and for the spring event. The more you look into it, it seems all you get is Woo Daves, his son, and a pamphlet with a PICTURE of KVD on it for the first 100 or so folks that show up. Am I understanding this right?? If so was anyone else a BIT misled by this advertising?? :-/ Thanks, Alan (bassnajr)
  9. KVD SLAMMED Berkley at the press conference after the Classic. "anglers designing lures...now there's a novel idea!"
  10. Watched the press conference after. One thing is for sure. He does have a lot of control over everything he uses to fish. From boats to lures...line to wave thingee machines. That cannot hurt the overall situation. And when you design and make what you use, and it works REALLY well, you get more confidence....which again, I believe is his biggest gift. With 100% confidence anyone can do anything....
  11. As you can see...you would sell alot of these...well???
  12. Nova...we'll trade you this guy and Keith Allen for Mariko Izumi!!!!!!
  13. Just for the record...I don't believe it... and I don't want to be a hater...hell...I don't even know what that means!!!! Hey Matt 5.0 we need to get out this year!!!!
  14. Sorry Nova....this guy is HORRIBLE!!!! Can we trade him for Bob Izumi???
  15. BTW... Thanks for the up close and personals Glenn....makes us snow bound dudes a little warmer. On a good note, I can now see my front walk!!!!
  16. Fluke....that really isn't anything new is it??? I have heard of this happening around my area but never any proof...just talk. I believe it is a VERY gray area...a heartbeat away from cheating. But that is just me. I would be surprised to hear that was the case with KVD and if so...shame on him. Just because something isn't listed in the rules as cheating...your heart and soul should tell you what is and isn't. IMHO
  17. From the ESPN blog..pretty funny!! 3:10PM ET As we watch BassTrakk on the final day of the Bassmaster Classic, we see that Kevin VanDam is shaping up to be the Chuck Norris of bass fishing. Here's our top 10: Some people wear Superman pajamas. Superman wears KVD pajamas. KVD doesn't need to actually cast for fish, he simply goes to a river or lake and says: "You, you, you, you and you -- in the livewell!" KVD can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves. When the boogeyman goes to sleep, he checks his closet for KVD. When KVD goes fishing, he doesn't need a fishing pole - he just stares at the water till the fish jump into his boat out of shear panic. KVD runs until the treadmill gets tired. They found KVD 's to-do list ... It is now known as The Guinness Book of World Records. KVD doesn't do push-ups. He pushes the world down KVD once won an underwater breathing contest with a fish. KVD doesn't need to wait for a bite when he goes fishing; the fish know KVD doesn't like to wait.

  19. He says he is not patient....I don't believe it. Working one small area for three days shows TREMENDOUS patience. And he did it last year as well. Not broken...don't fix it! He has CONFIDENCE....anything can be done and done well when you have an unlimited amount of confidence. IMHO it is what KVD has that all the rest don't have.
  20. You can have as many way points as you want....ya still have to fish them right at the RIGHT time....
  21. Saw that...it was a TENSE moment. I agree it was time for a change but where did this dude come from?? I foresee a change...again!
  22. Hey all.. Watched the weigh in on Bassmaster.com last night.... The new emcee....is he someones brother in law?? Seems like he'd be a great guy to fish and have a brew with but....I thought it was Larry the Cable Guy at first. What do you folks think about the Jerry McKinnis' new choice???
  23. Why is "Larry the Cable Guy" the new Emcee....oh my!!!! ;D
  24. That's one. Gambler & Paycheck Baits make one as well. I've got a friend who uses heat shrink tubing & a dab of superglue and swears by it. I've tried it and it works for a while it just doesn't stay ridged enough after a few fish for me. Maybe I'm not using the right heat shrink. I was thinking about the shrink wrap idea as well but thought the same thing...is common shrink wrap rigid enough?? HMMM??
