  8. What would be cool is if he auctioned it off for some charity....I hear he is pretty cool like that. Maybe he doesn't own the boats???
  9. VERY observant grasshopper...I hope you are right!!!!!
  10. THAT IS IT!!!! Too bad they are out of stock!!!!!! Can't get a frickin break!!!! :-/
  11. I zoomed...even with the cheaters on I can't tell.... I asked the seller anyway. What time is it in Japan any way!!??
  12. In a nut shell...YES!!! Just decide on the 100 MPH or the regular Gortex. If you fish in a fairly warm section of the USA I would go with the plain Gortex. The 100 MPH is very warm and can be too warm.
  13. saw those...they appear to have a lip as well...don't they?? Anyway I e-mailed him to ask. Thanks for the help!!!!!
  14. Hey all.... I lost my best topwater this year and have been looking all over to replace it. On the top was printed DEKA Hama Ku Ru. (It's basically the Mikey without the bill) It had two full treble hooks and NO BILL on the front. It had three sections. All the lures I am seeing now have a bill. I did buy a similar lure but it is TINY and has two...um....double hooks instead of trebles??? I would have to throw this lure with a spinning set up it is so small so it needs to go back to Japan. I now assume I had a discontinued lure that is no longer made and won't be able to replace this. ANY help would be greatly appreciated...PLEASE HELP ME FIND A REPLACEMENT!!!! Yup...this is THAT lure for me!! Alan (bassnajr)
  15. I disagree...once a lemon???? I'll bet he can get just as nice a boat for the money without this motor. What are you going to pay for this Javelin???
  16. Don't buy it .....these engines have a tendancy to blow up. I looked at a Javelin also...but it had no motor. Guess why???
  17. I should be more specific... "Higher End" Shimano reels. The Stradic, I consider pretty high end...wow! I have a few of the white ones no problems yet.
  18. Hey all.... Like many folks on this board I am a Shimano man. However, I don't know much about "vintage" Shimano reels. Did Shimano ever make a reel (excuse that!) clunker of a baitcasting reel...something to stay away from??? Alan (bassnajr)
  19. I have both a regular "solid" vest and an inflatable belt type vest. I leave the "solid" ski type vest attached to the kill switch. If you drive the boat, you wear the vest. The belt type I wear all day and don't know it's there half the time. And yes...the belt type does fit Coast Guard requirements and fills most tournament requirements.
  20. Hey all.... I am going through and storing all my gear for the winter and I noticed a few lures that I bought that I just can't catch fish on. I don't mean the "BANJO-minnow" or hokey products like that, I mean a bait that you look at and say to youself, "Now THAT will catch fish!" and then nothing. Could be a jig, a crankbait, maybe a certain plastic bait(s). It's probably a quality bait, right color, perfect for the area etc. but...alas....nothing!!!! Anyone else have one of these experiences?? Alan (bassnajr)
  21. I agree...sounds natural....you witnessed a glimpse of nature most don't see. Just makes you realize how great these fish are and why we all chase them with wild abandonded!!!! Peace AJR
  22. Hey all.... Since I live in a state where the fisheries are no more than 20 feet deep, I figured I ask these questions here? At what depth does a fish need to be fizzed? If a fish caught BELOW that depth is not fizzed, what is the likely hood that the fish will survive? Any links around on "how to"?? Discussion also welcome. Thanks, Alan (bassnajr)
  23. Welcome!!!!!
  24. There are many ways to fish a drop shot. Around docks, edge of weeds, rocky areas. Don't let what you have read limit your imagination. All you need to do is change the distance between the hook and weight. Good luck!! AJR
  25. God bless you!! Cover your mouth next time!! ;D
