I believe that a good rule of thumb is if it couldn't end up in the water naturally, you probably shouldn't put in in any body of water. NOW...pulling trees, rock piles, boulders etc. out onto a frozen pond and letting them sink for the spring....I don't feel is a problem. Alan (bassnajr)

Hey all.... I know that Aaron Martens scroungers went out of business (the website is no more) but Bass Pro Shops is now selling Luck E Strike scroungers that look exactly the same. Did Martens and Co. sell the idea/lure to Luck E Strike? I know hat BPS can't keep them in stock and they are flying off the website. Not in the stores yet.....

Well, I just got a $50.00 gift card for my birthday, and I went right to the BPS website instead of the store. The shipping sucks ($4.95 up to $25.00...$7.95 $25.00-$50.00) but I figured gas to the store would cost me that. I placed an order and they let you know if they have it or not. BIG PLUS!!! Drive to the store and then find out they don't have it, or the workers can't find it, or don't know what they are talking about. After you've seen the fish tank once, the wonder of the store is over IMO. I just want the product, and the site is the best way to do it. Alan (bassnajr)

OK Was at the BPS in Foxboro last week. The clearance such that it is, is mixed in with all the other items, so you have to look THROUGHOUT the store to find any "deals". Stock was limited.

I have had nothing but problems with Navico customer support except Linda. I sent her and e-mail regarding the incompatibility issues regarding the emulators and Windows Vista, as well as other issues. She got RIGHT back to me. Told me that she had already had disscussions with the powers that be and well the worker bees can only do so much. Linda was probably telling them all the truth...just what the boss DOESN"T want to hear...that customers are not happy. I was looking into the HDS 8 with down/side imaging at around $2500.00. I now hear that there are already bugs and problems because "they" rushed it to try and catch up with/ compete with Humminbird. Won't be making that purchase. He seems to be the kind of guy who is VERY wise as far as fishing goes, but has a difficult time getting it across. Plus, I hear is a "loner" and would rather be left alone. But they pay him to talk to us!!!

I gave up on Bass Pro....and the store in Foxboro doesn't have ANY clearance area. I'll order on line, but I hear their shipping has gone up as well. I am taking the hour plus ride to Cabela's in Connecticut on Friday. People say there are better deals there in the Bargain Cave....we'll see!! :
