  1. OK...here we go. I was talking to my wife about a vacation as another 8" of snow falls today in the Northeast. I said I wish I was fishing, she says I wish I was laying by the pool with a drink. IDEA!!!! Fishing in Mexico, but I can not remember the resort that has a spa/pool/restaurants AND great fishing. I think Zona went there, but I can't find the episode. HELP!!!!!! Alan (bassnajr)
  2. I saw one of those in a Star Trek movie....Khan put one in Chekov's ear...and he went CRAZY!!! Be careful!!!!!
  3. Nice!!!!! I'd join just for the shirt...and the fishing!!!!! Good luck!!!!
  4. Welcome to BR... Don't ya watch City Limits with Iaconelli??? Don't think he's done an Indy show yet though??!!
  5. Banjo Minnow...... :
  6. You guys prefer smaller baits (3"-4") or larger (5"-7") for "shakeying? I know to "let the fish tell you" what they want, but just as a general rule..... Alan (bassnajr)
  7. I am just going by the boards, but I believe you, Wayne. Seems like a lot of them for sale.
  8. By the way...I was thinking Lowrance for side/down imaging...now thinking H. Bird...... Go to the different bass forums FOR SALE areas and take a look. Lots of folks dumping them. Problems first started with the 5" now spreading to the bigger sizes...many bugs..some being pulled of the shelf at BPS before they were sold. KARMA????? :-/
  9. LC rings it is then........
  10. Had I seen that link I would have bought at least one too. It does not swivel fish, but then again, neither did the gimbel mount that came with it.
  11. Thanks guys...I'll grab some at BPS next time I am there.
  12. Here we go again with another Navionics/Lowrance rant: Bought the Navionics NavPlanner at BPS a while back. Got it for $50.00. Was planning on doing a little winter preparation. Didn't even get past loading it on my computer. I will start out by saying I HAVE VISTA!!! Tried to load it...hour glass spins...then...NOTHING!!! So I call Navionics. Speak to Jennifer. She says the software guy is out right now, but she will have him call me. TWO WEEKS go by...nothing. (now I know how the big boned girl at the dance feels!!) Lowrance should buy Navionics and then GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!! > Anyone else have this problem?? PS The package does say it is Vista compatible. Alan (bassnajr)
  13. I believe that there are many other accessories I would get before a Power Pole. A good powerful trolling motor comes to mind. The only people I have seen with them on their boats are the pros on TV who are sponsored by them. If you are going to get one, I would get two. I think it would be more of a pain spinning in circles then keeping position with your trolling motor. JMO.
  14. Does anyone know where I can find the oblong type of "O" rings like the ones found on Lucky Craft cranks??? Thanks in advance!! Alan (bassnajr)
  15. "In accordance with Chapter 44, Title 18, Section 926C of The United States Code: Basically says that law enforcement and retired law enforcement officers can carry a concealed firearm as long as they are in good standing or retired in good standing, and qualify with an NRA certified range officer every 12 months. I know there are many LEOs and retired LEOs on this site. Here in Rhode Island, we used to have to get a State pistol permit to carry. Now with this federal law, all that has changed... Bout time!!!
  16. All the time...every where...don't you see what's going on out there??? I agree...a gun does NO good in the gun vault.
  17. I took my wife out twice. First time a freak thunderstorm came through so fast, I was about 300 yds. from shore and couldn't get back in to shore before it exploded...VERY BAD!!!! Second time, there were about 18" (yup INCH!!) "waves" and I was running about 25 mph. She made me take her back to shore!!! I was going to fast in those rough waters!! I fish alone now....... :-/
  18. If that's what kills me...I'll be OK with that!!! lol
  19. This bracket is for a 520C...I am sure there are different widths for different models.
  20. Hey all, I am re-doing my boat this winter and figured I would spring for a new RAM mount to bring the screen...well.....closer to my eyes. I looked on line....$59.99 RIP OFF!!!! So I got the stuff and made one. Let me know what you think!!! OK this is what you need: gimble bracket, a 1 1/2" flange, a 5" nipple, (find both at the Home Depot plumbing dept.), a lag bolt 6" X 1/4", two fender washers, and a 1/4" bolt. Assemble as shown. Paint with metal primer and flat gray/black spray paint (haven't done that yet), screw into your deck and go. Total cost...around $5.00!!!! PS the nipple comes in 5", 6", and 8" lengths.
  21. Safety is one thing, and I believe that is what Glenn and Keri speak of. I would have no problem with that. If you were to hire a local guide to show you the best places on a certain body of water, I think goes more to being lazy more than cheating. Although if it is a violation of the law or tournament rules, that is different. A "fly over" is no different than a good Google Earth for the most part. I have heard a "story" of a pro who has others pre-fish for him, gather information and spots, areas that are hot etc. Would he be lazy or just a loser?? PS Someone can give you all the GPS marks in the world...you still have to know how to catch the fish. Alan (bassnajr)
  22. PRACTICE....PRACTICE...PRACTICE!!!!!!
