I bought a few Storm jointed rubber swim baits at Dick's last week. They seem to have the right colors to "match the hatch" as they say, and the prices are good. Perch, bluegill, a couple of "minnow" type fish (blue/silver) all with treble hooks. Can't wait to use them!! bassnajr

But even Carp need some loving!!!! ajr

Hey all.. Just wanted to share a quick story.. So often here on BassResource.com we talk about how to, should we, a better way to, catch that next bass... but..... I was on my local pond yestereday testing out my old tin boat with two old friends and one new one. It was 40 degrees, wind 25-35 mph. and lets just say things didn't go to well with the boat. I grabbed a fishing rod to make a few casts. As I looked over the side of the boat, I saw two of the biggest bass I have ever seen (outside the tank at BPS that is) cruise by the boat. Of course, I threw a lure their way, but they had more on their mind and swam away. I yelled to my buddy, "Did you see those two bass??!! I must have sounded like a kid I was so excited. I said to myself if I have that much passion for this fish to be excited just to see a few "lunkers" swim by, maybe I did make the right decision getting back into bass fishing after so many years off. So let's not forget what it's REALLY all about. The outing itself, the people we choose to share it with, and the things we see, hear and feel, that many people will never see in their life time. OK ....enough "corniness" for one day, I know...now let's get back to busting chops, challenges, and always, learning!!! (Alan) bassnajr

Hey, I am starting club, local tournament fishing this year. I have fished for over 30 years, and treat people like they treat me. I will do the same in club and tournamemt fishing as well. I wouldn't go anywhere NEAR another boat that's fishing, tournament or not. That doesn't mean I would let people walk all over me either. I agree, a jerk on land is a jerk on water. ajr

Hey all..... I would like to hear how everyone "conditions" their live well for fishing season. (Cleaning, preparing, etc.) I would also like to now if anyone has a home made formula that replicates products like "Rejuvenade" etc. I have heard about adding peroxide to livewell water to keep fish alive for release, but have no specific recipe. Any help would be appreciated. bassnajr

jrh, I am getting my answer....the answer is.. that pretty much EVERYONE has a different definition of Pro Angler...I do VERY respectfully disagree with using the Elite or FLW guys as the only pros. They are the best of the best, the major league. JT and I had an exchange in PM tha I agree with. Being a pro is the whole package, fishing, marketing, charity, selling yourself and why you fish, and most of all, realizing how lucky you are to earn a living (good or bad) doing something you love. Unlike other sports, for the most part, you don't need natural talent, just passion, a longing to learn, a love of the outdoors, and the ability to put it all together and still be happy. ajr

Hey osborn... Don't be embarrassed!!! At least us guys from the Northeast are catching something!!! And it shows how crazy we are!!! My little bass (posted) was on a 36 degree day, off the bank, with 25mph winds and ice on the pond!!! We should have asked fishindaddy for points for that stuff!!!! Good job!!! Let's represent!!! (I am jealous about the 85 degree day fishndaddy had but.....Oh,...did I say that outloud!!!??) ;D ajr

Glenn... fishindaddy went to church and then did chores, and then caught that fish..much bigger than mine! Did he get unfair help from...well you know who^^^^!!! (lol)

My first fish.... 1.5 lbs. ...I know, not much, but there was ice on the pond 100 yards away!!!! I grabbed it on a Strike King spinnerbait black and red with a tandem Indiana and Colorado blade, and I caught it on the trailer hook!!! RI state record is 10.6 lbs. My score...I don't know, I can't even read a ruler!!! ;D Gotta go get a bigger one!! Alan (bassnajr)
