Plaster Mold Sealant
Wait... heres what this bass resource article says... http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/pouring_plastic_worms.html "Sealer - any plaster/wall board, water soluble sealer such as Valspar® gloss glaze (superior in many respects to Mod-Podge® craft glue, which peels off after 10 pours.)"

Boat Planing Question
I'm talking the actual point where the boat lifts out and on top of the water instead of dragging through it. I said "FULLY" loaded with a max capacity of 785 lbs.

Boat Planing Question
I understand that it depends on the shape, size, and weight of the boat, but I would like to know an approximate HP that would get my boat on plane. I know it takes a bit of Hp to finally "push" the boat out of the water and then the boat will gain more and more speed. So what would y'all say it takes: The boat is a 14' Vhull with a max weight capacity of 785 lbs and a max Hp rating of 25. Let's just say it is FULLY loaded... I'm guessing atleast 10 hp maybe 12 so I'm looking for a used 15 Hp. What do you think?

Weakley speaks out on 25 lber...
Exactly... almost everyone IS in it for the money when it comes to the world record INCLUDING these guys. Why else would someone offer a grand to get off a fish so they could catch it instead? SO HE COULD GET MILLIONS WHEN HE CATCHES IT! The only reason they decided to let it go and not pursue the record: 1. They caught and retained it ILLEGALLY!. 2. They KNEW there was no way it would become certified as the world record. Now they look like great guys because they released it and are not pursuing it because "they are not in it for the money"!?!? GIVE ME A BREAK! They just want people on their side in case they catch the thing again legally and THEN they will go for the millions. I CAN'T BELIEVE that people are praising this guy for not pursing it when he BROKE THE LAW and it was all captured on film!!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! > (note that i am not directing this toward you Roger)

IGFA Will Consider Mac Weakley's Bass
It doesn't matter if the scale and everything IS legit and the bass really IS the biggest in the world... it SHOULD NOT and will not be a "World Record" because no one caught it. (legally that is) We know there are bigger bass out there SOMEWHERE but if not caught legally they are not considered World Records. World Records are those fish that are "Caught" legally by a person. If a bass was caught then kept in captivity, say at a fisheries aquarium and grew to be the biggest bass, that's all it would be. It wouldn't be the "World Record" because it was not caught at 24 pounds or however big it would be.

Flotation Foam
Adding foam to a boat will NOT make it have more freeboard, alothough it will dampen sound and help keep the boat afloat even after it is filled with water.

boat for me and the bro
I don't know about that one, but i have an old model that is HEAVY. This thing is not a car topper... you could load it in a truckbed but not put it on a car. Personally... I would save my money and look around some lake neighberhoods for used boats. You can find people that want that "thing" sitting in their yard gone and could buy one for around the same amount as that thing and get a trailer with it. LBH had the great idea to leave notes on every door he saw that had a boat and he said he had tons of responses from people willing to sell. Plus a little jon boat has more room... And a small trolling motor ($130 34lb thrust) can get you around faster and EASIER than rowing.

Possible Boat...
I agree, IF everything works and the decking isn't rotted... I think it's worth it... doesn't look like too much work to have a nice fishing machine... That's IF everything works. Make sure there's no holes in the boat or weak spots in the deck.

Anchor Question
I'll help you with your first question. It depends on what you want... If you HAVE to keep weight down you can use sheet aluminum but it can be pricy. It also depends on what you have supporting the deck (bar aluminum, 2x4, etc) and what size people are going to be standing on it. What I decided to do is support my deck with 2x4's and then go with 1/2" ply coated in fiberglass resin to make it waterproof. You can also use thin plywood and coat it with fiberglass cloth and resin as LBH suggested in a different post. Remember the thinner your plywood is the closer your supports must be.

can't get the bass
small bullet weight if texas rigging... (as small as you can get away with in that wind). Or you could use an internal weight or a tube hook.

HELP, I have a hole in my boat!!
size of a BB... I say caulk it with silicone or whatever. On my aluminum boat, I caulked the seams with Polyuerthane caulk called NP 1 (my dad is a roofer and uses the stuff on his roofs). It worked great and is paintable. I even filled a big hole with it.

BOW MOUNTED TROLLING MOTOR ON JON BOAT
You could mount something (like a 2x4) on the front and then just mount the motor to it, i've seen that done.

Put Floors in my Jon Boat
If you can't get to the underside of the aluminum (like inside a seat) I think you can use toggle bolts which I believe screw through and clinch onto the underside of the aluminum holding the wood in place.

Put Floors in my Jon Boat
You bolt it in... or some people just let there floors fit snug in the bottom so they can remove them easily when they need to.
