On Wheeler lake KVD placed 2nd and on Kentucky lake he won and he was using his series 5 sexy Shad crankbait and a 10" Rage Tail ANACONDA worm along with Jig and Rage Craw etc. The Anaconda is big and action packed. Same worm that Shaw Grigsby and I did the show on a few mths ago but hasn't aired yet due to launch of worm in the market is next week. Gonna try to get some film clips of Anaconda as well as other new designs posted here on Forum real soon. Maybe next day or two. Will also be on my website. On the Rage Tail Shad, I recommend a 4/0 EWG heavy wire hook. If you go to my my website and to the Shad product page, there are hooking instructions that might help you out. Also video instruction as well. Once you got it, you got it. 5/0 hooks are good for 10" worms and sounds like you have a honey hole. Might ck out some topwaters early morning going to swimbaits like the tube style Shadalicious, etc. later morning then to worms craws etc later in the day. Big O www.ragetail.com

Hawg Hunter8, you mentioned when you reel it it flips over on it's belly.... If the Rage Toad lands on it's back on cast, it is designed to flip over onto its belly on beginning retrieve or pause. My website gives details on toad product page that I hope might be of help. Also Brian's advice on keel weight hook is good on almost all soft top water designs, helps you to throw it a mile as well. They like it and don't forget the ole spinnerbait. They are comfortabe in the lower light conditions and move further from or don't hold as tight to cover. They often feel frisky in these conditions unless was cold front situation. Cover some water before settling down to slow movers or finess style. Big O www.ragetail.com

Important not to under estimate the effectiveness of a 7.5" and up curl tail worm rigged either weightless or with light keel weighted hook. I would venture to say that it is equally as effective if not more effective than standard straight tail worms in many situations. I personally don't use straight tail worms for this application because sinko style and flukes have proven more effective than weightless strait tail worms. As for me, I use only curl tail worms for this type of presentation and have for 30 yrs. with tremendous success, especially 10" versions. I have caught at least 15 fish over 10 lbs with this technique and most if not all were in scattered grass or moss beds in 10 ft or better depth. I just finished a 10" worm design that will be debuted at the ICAST next week called Rage Tail Anaconda, comes in 7.5" and 10". Will put up a short video on website soon to show action. In Bass Times, KVD told what he used at Wheeler- Series 5 sexy shad SK crankbait and 10" Anaconda in Green Pumpkin. Of course he was fishing it Tx and/or Carolina rigged. There is one rigged both weightless and tx rigged on my deck at all times and most any color works, my standard choices are blue fleck, red shad and/or green pumpkin candy.
